Got some WIP shots from the sculptor, I think they came pretty close to the art:

I'd buy the full range too, any idea when they might be available? Will there be a discount for buying army packs or something like that?

Hi there,
I hope you don't mind a few comments.
The bottom vehicle seems to be the closest to the concept art to me.

The three vehicles in the middle picture:
I like the first one a lot, because it really looks like it used to be a cadillac

The second vehicle looks great, but I think it needs an option for metal stakes in the undercarriage. The front window also looks a bit odd with the criss cross pattern.

The last one's weapons on top makes it look a bit odd. It could be because the weapon is a bit bulky, and the vehicle is very rounded and small.

Overall, this is great. I'm really glad to see that the three vehicles in the middle pic seem to have removable guns. I think that will increase their usability since it means you can have a few variants each.

any idea of a likely release date, and will the vehicles be available individually or in packs, also will there be separate weapon/turret packs?

Very nice but several of the vehicles front wheels seem too small to me - especially for desert/wasteland operations - and look toy-like rather than menacing/mean. Overall the shapes look rounded and cuddly - could you model some more edges/sharp angles?

The release date is a bit up in the air really. I am shooting for July, but it depends on who does the remaining infantry. I also would like to get the bus and truck done, but I am unsure of the sculptor's schedule.

As to the cartooniness, I grant that they have many rounded edges, but it reflects the art, and I am actually producing these through a partnership with the artist who is ultimately controlling the visual direction. Perhaps after these are done we can do some more hard-edged post apoc vehicles.

I will say, it is a bit harder for me to make changes based on feedback. Unlike some of the other companies on here, I don't sculpt anything myself, so the process isn't that dexterous, especially for things that are physically sculpted.

Only just now came across this thread full of WIN! Shame on me.

My general spontaneous feedback: Absolutely see this project through to the end!
Players will easily find use of the range as proxies in Epic and then people will come up with other games to use them in like the already mentioned Car Wars, Dark Future etc.

And with Mad Max: Fury Road right round the corner the hype will do the rest.

I am personally thinking the same as Berzerkermonkey: 6mm GorkaMorka!!! :spin

Also can easily imagine myself using them with the successful Mayhem system, just renaming abilities to fit the post-apo setting. :)

Some feedback to the test sculpts:
The bikers are ace, as is the third long vehicle.

The gunner on top of the first vehicle (between the bikers) seems out of proportion. Maybe the car needs to be upscaled?

Keep them coming, thedespot29!

Hi despot,
I don't know exactly the relationship between you and the sculptor, but as someone who works on artistic projects myself(which I have to sell) I often welcome feedback.

Sometimes, I'm doing something just to do it, and I will only look for feedback from a close circle including my wife and a couple of friends. Other times I look for feedback from anyone who will have a look.

If you want, you can tell your friend that you posted the greens on a website where a few of your friends (us) hang out. Tell him that quite a few of your friends loved the concept and the execution, and are going to be future customers. A few of those friends also gave some constructive feedback. Would he like to hear it?

If he says no, end of. If he says yes, mention a couple of these pieces of feedback. Not all of course. It should go well.

Of course, don't do this if you don't feel comfortable.

Really like the designs so far - that Power Loader Crate unit would be a great addition to a Combat Engineer team , or as spaceport furniture. The Bikes would work in any environment and the gang cars could be PA or even low-tech colony world civilians/militia/rebels.

That armed shuttle is quite nice, though a little small to me . . . .

I haven't logged in for a while, but just saw this on TMP today, and it looks like a great line. Personally I have a couple of projects that these would fit into as is, and one standalone one. They'd fit in with my 6mm Traveller project (it's a bit enough sandbox for some PA setting somewhere, even Terra after the Solomani got kicked out) and with my ultramodern microarmor in a near-future PA setting. On their own, maybe with the Irregular Miniatures cars, as a Car Wars project (better than my Matchbox/Hot Wheels idea!).

I think they'd also work well for the small but growing group of guys who do 6mm skirmish gaming.

Chris
