An APC concept for the Elites, based on the British FV 432 APC.

And a version that's 20% larger. Bigger than the APC's most people are used to using in 6mm, but it'd be more "truescale" to fit Elites into with their heavy armour.

Thoughts?

Make it at least 50% bigger. Looks like a go-cart next to him ;D
Since DiD seems to be going true scale on everything from MBT to flyers I'd like to see APCs, especially for power armored soldiers, be the same and actually look like they can hold them

edit: cross post zinger!

Can they really fit in there? It's probably to scale with unarmored troopers, but that armor has to require at least a bit more space than your modern day infantryman...

So yeah, my vote would be for the second version.

eta: the second version looks very good.

The first version is to scale with traditional 6mm APC models. I might even go bigger than the 2nd version then for the true truescale factor.

YES!

This IS the proxy I have been looking for!

(first one is too small, 2nd one is awesome!)

I am generally opposed to the truescaling of the 6mm universe into something quite al ot bigger, but I agree with the previous speaker that seeing as the rest of your minis are big, you must have APC:s that are big too. If that would make them too big for other manufacturers minis, then that is something you have to live with.

50% might be a bit too large, but 20% might be just a tad too small still. 25-30%?

Either way, I love the design.

The bigger one does look better alongside the passenger for sure. So this would be more the size of a chimera as opposed to a rhino. I've often thought that a rhino should only be able to carry 5 or 6 marines max anyway. Even the 40k model only has enough seats for half a squad.

Over all i like the design although i'm not sure about all the wheels looking like drive sprockets and i'd like to see a drivers episcope added or is that what that forward hatch looking thing is meant to be, and a possible MG option on the top hatch.

Have you tried a version with armoured side skirts?

I am sure I read somewhere that one of these had been modified to look like a rhino - Dawn of war marketing I think.

I agree with Moredakka's comments. The wheels just don't seem to fit right in what is a VERY nice looking model (I want lots of these!). Maybe just keep the front and rear drive wheels as sprocket style, the rest would look better round. A pintle mount for the top hatch would look good. And an option for armoured side skirts would be awesome! As for size, personally I would go for no more than say a 30% increase in size..... :)

I feel like it’s only too short in the vertical direction. The usual convention of basing infantry but not vehicles contributes to that. There’s something else, though – I get a jalopy vibe from it, i.e. a tank with the turret removed. I don’t know if it’s because of the height or because of the way the upper surface looks.
