Hi,
I have just started getting back into Epic thanks to a friend. Luckily there are a couple of us that have armies still and I was able to get the scenery from my old gaming group (including some of the nice forgeworld buildings).
I have played three games so far with my Orks, each game with a slightly different force. We have played 3K points. The core of the force has been 2 big warbands, a Big Kult of Speed, a Big Blitz Brigade and a Big Gunz Mob with Oddboy in. O and two sets of three Fighta Bommas
The main thing I change is the stompa mob/s with supa stompas in.
Everything works really well except I struggle to get any value out of the KoS for its points. It is very fragile so no matter how sneaky I try and be it tends to get thumped quite easily.
Are there any better choices out there that for roughly the same point s could kinda fill the same role. To clarify I tend to think of the KoS as an exploitation force rather than a damage dealer.

I find the Kos a bit fragile too. I have been toying with the idea to spam small KoS units though. That could be interesting B-)

The KoS is 14 buggies and two Skorchers. I don't add any further units and not looked at different units for it just yet. What would you recommend putting in there.
I had also thought about smaller units as objective grabbers.

I've fielded a big KoS with all bikes and smalls made up of all Buggies or Scorchas. Never tried a big with the LVs.
The bikes I just use as an assault hammer, they take lots of punishment and get to roll lots of dice whether they're supporting or engaging.
Buggies and scorchas I tend to use for straight support and objectives. Scorchas are usually better in this roll, the 15cm of extra range isn't as good as the FF increase and IC that you're giving up.

Very interesting, I may have to try the bikes out. I think I have enough on bases (just need painting). I must admit I kinda glanced over the bike units as a choice.
Should have a game coming up on Sunday so may well give them a go.
