okay back from warmastering at warhammer world, time to write this sucker up!
forces used - 18k of dark angels, 3x4k chaos forces (iron warriors, death guard, thousand sons)
the table is three 6x4 tables in an L-shape, the dark angels deploy ground units at the ends of the L, upto 60cm on, the dark angels get a free strike cruiser each, all barrages must be plotted at the start of the game, but drop pods are done one turn in advance
the ref places 6 bunker objectives, 4 on the centre table and one on each end table, in the chaos half but out of the deployment zone (this may need changing) these two bunkers need to be engaged and their contents destroyed or the third table is considered to be shielded, while the table is shielded no orbital barrages will hit, planes cannot land or ground attack (but may fly over as normal) and any troops podding in must take a dangerous terrain test with no re-rolls permitted
each bunker has a hydra turret which cannot be targeted or suppressed and the contents are hidden and cannot be targeted until the bunker is engaged, to win the dark angels must engage all six bunkers and eliminate the contents, any other result is a loss.... when a bunker is engaged, move the attackers into range, the contents (decided by the ref) are then revealed and placed within 10cm of the bunker, in a position to countercharge
The chaos players have an unlimited daemon pool, until both objective-sorcerers are killed, at which point they cannot summon more daemons
On the day, the dark angels started out strongly with teleporting terminators eliminating the shield generators right away.... I got pretty involved in reffing and answering the inevitable rules questions so didn't take regular pictures.... here's a series of pics with captions:
