I realize that I've been asked repeatedly for a group shot of my armies so I'm happy to oblige.
So here you can see my Marines, Imperial Guard, Necron and of course, Chaos armies.


Oh I guess I should mention we're currently moving so everything's packed away for transport. Guess I should have done that first
I'll be shutting things down for 2014 now but hope to see everyone soon in the new year! Till then...

Even though the siege of the Capital which had stymied the Cadian forces for so long had been broken by the Merkava armoured assaults, it was readily apparent that a traitor Astartes force of unknown, though sizable strength was operating in the theater,. Most worryingly for the Imperial command, their purposes and objectives were as yet unknown. Where there were marines, so were their transports and armour to be found as well. The ubiquitous RH-1-N-0 had been in service to the Astartes since the days of the Great Crusade and when the Holy Emperor himself still walked as a man. When banished, the traitors were to take their vehicles and equipment and knowledge with them only to reappear when fighting against the Imperium. Here were typical representations of transports found during the opening stages of this new, dangerous phase of the campaign, using an older pattern of vehicle, code name: Deimos, than was typical in the modern age.




painters notes:
yeah I'm alive. Actually I've got a whole pile of painted but not based formations stalled in the workshop I'm hoping to get out now the youngest decided he wants to breathe now and you know... not die.

Based these with Army Painter gunmetal primer. Weapons and hatches have Devlan mud wash applied to each to stain the metal. The lines on the top hatches and view ports each were pin washed with several applications of thinned Woodland Scenics Black pigment. The hazard stripes the typical GW Darksun and Chardon Granite combo. Treads were a 60/40 Gunmetal / Vallejo Hull Red slurry applied liberally. Random bits of brass, silver, tin and other metal stuff applied. The recessed panels, as with all my Iron Warriors, is VGC charcoal with blended Astronomicon grey and an extremem edge of fortress grey. All over an application of black oil wash was evenly placed. The soot marks applied to the trailing chassis behind each exhaust pipe were a blended application of AK Interatctive Streaking Grim enamel. Rust is AK rusting streaks and various red/orange oil paints. Dust of course the classic GW Graveyard Earth. To help match with the infantry company these will transport I used vallejo sandy paste without color and after sculpting, I used Army Painter Strong Tone to apply color with.
