If I can't make it to England for the next tournament it will be for economic reasons, or because I can't find a team - because I would most certainly like to do this every year!

I'm open for an "old Norway" team if I'm not needed on or we can't fill up a Swedish team.

I would be honoured if you'd like to use it. However I feel obligated to point out that while I own and painted the model I don't have copyright to the image. (But could obviously provide one in the highly unlikely case that the Germans don't want to share it).

I'm going to try for a Norwegian team next year, but if I can't get a full team I'm up for anything!

I think the event was a success. Big thanks to the Germans for starting and hosting it, and for those of us who could make it. The UK team was by far the strongest, although I think it is only by events like this that the rest of Europe can catch up. I had five fantastic games, faced great opponents and fought beautiful armies. The atmosphere was friendly and I think most players had a great time.

I would like to attend future events, but the Swedish scene is fragmented and I am not sure how we as a Swedish community should appoint players for next year. We will recede to the Northern woods and plot our revenge.

Anyway, thanks to the Germans, all my opponents, and all the friendly people that contributed to a graet tournament .

/Fredmans

Have a qualifying tournament! Not everybody who attends can travel to the EEC, but it will give you a ranking list where the top players get an invite. If they refuse, you go down the list until you have four players.

I think all the talk of appoint or qualify is all stating to sound a little organised!!

I'd say if you can find enough people to meet the team size your good to go!

Anyone willing to give their thoughts on the nid games? Whether it be by the player or the opponent? If so, please post here:

The big question is whether you (and others) would like to attend such an event? how was the event from a fun point of view? would you do it again?

I would not do it again, and that has nothing to do with my poor results. My loss to Richard was one of the most enjoyable games I've played for a long time.

But unfortunately my last game sort of ruined my weekend. I was this close -> <- to concede at least once every turn because of my opponent's behavior. Even if the dice rolling had been as bad as he claimed it to be his outbursts and angry, accusingly, complaining was, in my opinion, totally unacceptable. I felt intimidated by his behavior a lot of times and very uncomfortable. The angry half-shouting and waving towards me and the dice: "This is how you should learn to roll saves" when he missed three 4+ rolls (statistics on that?) was ridiculous.

If one knows that one behaves like that, one should not play. And telling me afterwards that I should have told him to stop I think is to not take responsibility of ones own actions. We are grown ups, we should be able to restrain ourselves and behave nicely at the table.
I paid about 400 euros for this trip and that experience was not worth it.

Otherwise the tournament was well organized.

Before rumours starts that was me, I was very frustrated after rolling badly for a while, and like a child I will not stop complaining if not restraint.

I understand Eric and I have nothing to add that I haven't said before to him. I also agree with him to a certain point, but understanding something intellectually and doing something emotionally are two different things.

He had his revenge so by throwing me out of the best painted competition by revoking his vote. So we are quits in some way.

I can't promise, that I never will play a dice game again, but I will try to behave better [edit] under stress[/edit].

Well, it wasn't just after a while. It pretty much started after my third activation when you started saying that "all was lost and no meaning to continue playing."

Childlike - yes. But we are adults and it's not about "I was so emo I couldn't control myself and behave nicely". If you are that you probably should get help.

Seems like you are really mad at me for changing my vote... And if you see that as my revenge - then again: seek help.

I was not there so can't comment on any individual cases. However, what I would say is that this was a very ambitious project that, whilst not perfect, did succeed in pulling disparate small Epic-playing communities together.

This event can be the Foundations for a long-running successful event. If the UK guys run it next year I know they will do a great job as they run many tournaments very successfully. Additionally, there is time for everyone to emphasise the importance of a sporting etiquette in the 8 or so months until the next competition.

Therefore I would suggest that all who attend next year will have a great time.
