Thanks everyone :) it was nice to pick up a brush again! This is a test model for my mymeara force.... it's had a lot of work (probably more than any of my other similarly sized vehicles) so hopefully I can keep the standard up for the rest of the army (and there is quite a bit of army left to do!)

For basing I'm thinking blasted earth and snow (standard eldar) but for the vehicles do you reckon I should go for round bases or FoW? Infantry will be on strips if that affects your thought process....

I really love mikeT and dptdexys' eldar forces using FoW bases but was thinking the round bases could have a yin-yang sort of thing going on....?

Can't make my mind up!!

I really like the turquoise portion but I'm not sure about the green at the back. Possibly if it extended further forward it would look better, but at the moment it looks like sort of an afterthought rather than a fully two-tone colour scheme.

Yeah its difficult, some of my other test models had more green but I didnt like the look.... it's mostly an accent colour for the army now.... need to practice layering!

Originally I was going to airbrush them but got fed up waiting for payday so I could buy an airbrush! That would probably have made the task easier....

I was wondering is the highlighting with a drybrush, or painted on? I like the effect of it. Good job.

I think it looks a bit strange when I mix strips and circles for bases, so I would choose the small FoW bases. Great work on the blending, by the way.

Interesting method of painting these individual panels um not a way i would have thought of doing them.

I would have painted the base colours on and then added a wash or some such to achieve shading of the panel lines. Still your method certainly looks good.

Yeah, it's an interesting approach, but definitely looking good so far. Looking forward to seeing the finished article!

(Also jealous that you have E:A-era Eldar SHTs.)

Two uses of the word 'interesting'....

Methinks in this situation it's really code for 'eh? What madness possessed you to make you do it that way? You massive idiot' ;)

Tbh I'm doing it this way as I wanted to see how the panels would shade and look as they're much bigger than the falcon and I wanted to try a few things out.... then I just carried on doing it as a way of preventing boredom.... it's a big model and the paints need about 3 layers.... would have gotten very bored just doing it all meredius blue over and over again.... plus this way I can test out the blend at the back and can practice a bit

I think the "interesting" choice of painting method produces great contrast between the recesses and the panels. I find that contrast is key at arm's length. I have a feeling they will look even more spectacular when you add those winter bases.
