I don't want to put you off the idea - these are something I am almost certainly in need of soon. I was just not into the 1950s ray gun aesthetic. Something smoother and sleeker would pass scrutiny surely at this scale? I must say, if you have concerns on IP then the last bug is surely a problem too? That said a farting or vomiting version could be more interesting anyway...

The last bug is absolutely fine IP-wise; it's a T Rex with a crab's shell, a scorpion's tail and 2 preying mantis arms, it really looks nothing like any other model if you view them side by side.

Lol, I don't mean any offense, but it looks like he has hemorrhoids. I'm not really a fan.

However I will say the body is quite an improvement over the old. Very aggressive mother trucker!

I wonder, what would you think regarding a whip like tail? Perhaps it could overhang much like a scorpion, with the idea of launching/whipping out bio-mines, spikes, whatever at an enemy. I keep getting an image of the sentinel in the Matrix two, where it twirls around and then whips out a mine at the Nebuchadnezzar.

Just a thought. :)

I like it! A big improvement on the previous artillery bug!

If you paint those hemmeroids ;) with a blue OSL paint scheme it'll look just like the artillary bugs from Starship troopers O0
I like the whip tail idea to. It could fire energy balls trebuchet style, like the Gungan artillery in Star Wars.

The word "Gungan" and any word associated with a positive trait should never be used in the same sentence...

I think the body is an improvement, but I would like to see a version with bigger abdomen, so it would become more like an onion and less like an asparagus (to keep this thread from derailing into PG territory).
Perhaps you could lengthen the back legs a bit to achieve more of a genetically-built-for-artillery-purpose effect.

I actually like that concept quite a lot, I'd agree it would be worth at least working through a version that either had the weapon come right across over the head in some kind of scorpion tail style, or some kind of catapult mechanism.

In general though that sculpt definitely looks meaner...

Perhaps take some design elements from the Bombardier Beetle?

I'm quite intrigued about the way it's going. Loving the clenched teeth straining - though maybe might provoke too many jokes...(?) :-D

Yeah that's kinda intentional; it looks pretty painful!

A big improvement, im liking the way its coming together. Maybe the onion shape would look a bit better.
