I support brumbaer on which ever country hosts, gets to decide on scoring, game selection, lists & FAQ. It will allow the hosts to run with what they know and reduce the pressure on them.

I agree with Tim, before we all get caught up in specifics, this game we play is all about having fun, while I may disagree with the scoring system, I don't think it's particularly bad and would probably not spoil too many games

Unfortunately for myself, I can't get the kind of funds required together in time for september, (whether I'd even be allowed on the UK team....) but I'll be very interested in how it runs, and will definitely plan for it next year (I vote Birmingham 2015 simply because I've got sprog#2 on the way and doubt I'd be able to leave my wife with both kids while I go jetting off to play with toy tanks, much as I would LOVE to visit Sweden, for purely selfish reasons I vote for Brum!)

I have called for a Swedish team in our epic Scandinavia facebook group.

Being a Tyranid player I assume you will allow all netEA approved lists which includes the Tyranid list, even though it's not yet in the tournament pack. Would this also apply to the AMTL, if Vaaish and Co. gets it approved in time for the list-sending-deadline?

The good thing about Epic-UK is that there is a central repository for the army lists, and if it's there you know it's valid.
It seems to be more complicated with NetEA.
I will compile a list of army lists within the next 2 weeks, copy the files to a single place - provided the army list champions are ok with that - and freeze that list, till the tournament.

Ok sounds great! You can find netEA Tyranids v10.2.1 here (the latest and approved version).

Games - for me 3hrs is more than enough per game and 5 games is ideal. After looking at flights a UK player is probably looking at £500-600 for the weekend so the more games the better

Well, those numbers will vary quite a bit depending where the player is flying from (EasyJet offers flights from London as cheap as £30) and hotel rooms go from €40 a night.
On top of that, Berlin is very, very wallet friendly when it comes to food & drinks. :)

Didn't get one.
How do you get on this list? ;)

PS: Who cares about prize support if you can call yourself most-awesome-Epic-nation in Europe and the cup is big enough to hold a litre of beer! ;D

If you book today you 'll get a flight for 72€ plus taxes and know notbwhat. Let's say 100€.
One person sharing a double room for two days in hostel 68€.
Getting around 20€.
Food 40€
That's 230€ about 200 pounds.
Let's add 50 Pounds for good measure and hidden costs.
So you could do it with 250Pounds.
The French team by the way estimates 300€.

I'm very keen on the whole plan and hope to attend as part of the UK team but those figures are much lower than I've found/would estimate

Flights - from London cheapest for that date is £161
Getting around - no idea on costs so 20 euro
Hostel - 68 euro
Food - arriving Friday evening, leaving sunday evening - 7 meals for 40 euro?
+ drinks, getting to London (as only 1 interested player so far is from London), parking if driving, bag on the plane

Hi Steve,
my mistake. There was a "Flexi date" button check by default . Without that the cheepsest flight is 145 € - and I haven't checked the times - so it will be around 160 pounds booking from Germany as well :(
Sorry about that - I did a sloppy job, looking the prices up.

Food -You get a breakfast below 10€ with 2 rolls and 2 coffees.
As I said a Pizza can be had for 10 to 12€ including a drink an Mac Donalds Maxi Menu is 8,5€ (just to give something comparable across nations). Coca cola 1.25l 90cent.
It alas depends on where you go, how often and what you buy - I take two meals a day, some three, some snack all day long. But there is leeway in my calculation use some of the 50 Pounds for food or beer :)
It's difficult to really nail a sum down, as peoples' habits are so different. But generally Berlin is much less expensive food-wise than the UK.

So my calculation seems to be off. That will be more likely 100 Pounds more.
160 pounds flight (seems ok, might go up with time)
60 pounds room (if you book late, this might go up)
60 pounds food (up from 30 something, seems plenty to me, taking breakfast and Pizza/Pasta in consideration. )
20 pounds getting around.

That's a neat 300 Pounds.
Plus whatever reserve you suggest
So probably something like 350 instead of 250€ :(
Feel free to correct the numbers.

Sorry again for the messed up numbers.

-edit- spelling
