I have some more photos of another Gothic building I had made for Pacificon 2013.
Normally I am not happy with the colors I choose when painting terrain, but I was happy with the colors and layering I did with this one!
and My legion of the Damned are sitting in for scale.

Really nice. What colors/techniques did you use?

WOW I forgot to go back and talk about this paint job, its a bit of a departure from my normal paint scheme! but I like to take risks in this hobby , it some times pays off! like the last building I posted in this (Tutorial) I will try to best describe the process.

Ok then lets work from top to bottom then.
I started by priming the building with "Armory Gray" did a lite coat over the whole building (I did not want to loose any of the lovely weathering I did to the outer walls and buttresses!)

(Paint and Ink i used)
Armory Gray Primer
CITADEL Base: MECHANICUS STANDARD GREY
CITADEL Base: XV-88
CITADEL Layer: DARK REAPER
CITADEL Layer: BALOR BROWN
CITADEL Layer: USHABTI BONE
CITADEL Layer: ADMINISTRATUM GREY
The Army Painter War Paints: "Quickshade" DARK TONE
The Army Painter War Paints: "Quickshade" SOFT TONE
and a white kitchen tile for paint pallet "it helps when adding water from a brush to water down some paints.

The roof was base coated in CITADEL Layer: DARK REAPER and a little water was added to make it seep into the details,
let dry then I added The Army Painter War Paints: "Quickshade" DARK TONE
mix little water for better flow of ink , ( it should have nice black lines in the cracks of the roof details.
next I used CITADEL Base: MECHANICUS STANDARD GREY medium/heavy dry brushing with large dry brush
then lite/medium dry brushing over the first grey with, CITADEL Layer: ADMINISTRATUM GREY,
( i may have mixed a little white in to the ADMINISTRATUM GREY then done just the broken areas on the roof to look like freshly broken concrete,)
I use a detail brush to do this last part.

OK now the building its self ! Yeah More steps! ;P
So I start with a base coat of CITADEL Base: XV-88 , let it dry.
Then I take a medium size dry brush then add some CITADEL Layer: DARK REAPER very randomly over parts of the building itself,
I do this lightly and sparingly, for Dirtier looking wall.
then I dry brush over that with CITADEL Layer: BALOR BROWN,
Now I water down, The Army Painter War Paints: "Quickshade" SOFT TONE then apply it to the building walls and buttresses.
when that drys I re-dry brush a little more CITADEL Layer: BALOR BROWN
then lightly dry brush over the highest of the raised edges with CITADEL Layer: USHABTI BONE.
lastly I mix about a third of white to 2 thirds USHABTI BONE I use a detail brush and run it along the edges using just the side of the bristles with paint on it.
And that's That!as they say!
I hope its useful to some one ;D
Happy hobbies-ing lol

Cheers for posting, that building looks awesome! And the LOTD paintwork on those old minis looks fantastic you have really captured the vibe from the fluff in a simple but really good looking paintjob.

well done ;)
