Yes, please somehow make these available us unwashed masses. In particular, this fortress. Would make really great Bastions for us Imperial Fist players.

I gave some samples to a friend, he will see wether he can cast them. I expect an answer sometimes at the end of next week. Most likely the weekend, when he has more time to spare.

I added a bit of stuff to the fortress.
Namely a big building and a landing pad.

The fortress is now quite large

Some more images can be found at http://brumbaer.de/index.php/3d-printing/26-santhebastion.

My friend did the first test casts, he sent me these pictures. He asked me to stress that these are test shots. I think they look quite good. I expect to see them in the flesh tomorrow. The material is some ceramic stuff. He didn't give me a quote so far. As you can see he can color the ceramic which would save some time on basecoating.

Have a nice week.

Wow your work is awesome! That printer has really good detail and the striations don't show barely at all. Is this a wax printer? Also do you do printings for other people? Obviously for a fee.

Hi Blind,
thanks for the interest.

The printer uses uv-curing resin.
The visibility of the striations depends on the resolution. The printer can only print small objects using the highest resolution. So you will have to divide a big object into segments - which causes it's on set of problems - or live with a lower resolution.
Striations aren't all bad, because they can be used to give a surface texture. If your mind is willing to accept that you are looking at a texture and not at a by product of the printing process, you're save.
Nonetheless what we only to often forget is that minor defects are not visible on playing distance. Something looking perfect on the table may look real bad when under close scrutiny.
On the image you can see some pieces with warped bottom lines, one of the problems I had to learn to overcome. When you're looking for them you see them and might find them annoying or not. When you just look at the fortress on a gaming table, you will most likely not notice them.

If you are looking for somebody to print models for you, try Shapeways or one of the other printing services.
My printer runs 20 hours a day for my own stuff.

Even if I had capacity available what advantage would you expect to gain from having it printed by me ?
Quality ? Shapeways has better machines and machines which are less demanding regarding the design (i.e. overhangs).
Price ? I could never match the price Shapeways is asking. It's not only printing time, but also logistics and checking and probably changing your designs, so that they print. The price must also cover misprints, warranty (read unsatisfied customers) and hidden costs, that I now tend to ignore.
Speed ? The machine needs between 1 and 3 hours per vertical cm. Vertical relative to machine not model. Width and Depth do not influence print time directly. But designs with many dense object might need longer settle timed. The middle part of the building prints for 16 hours. If I had 10 jobs like those the last one would have to wait at least 10 days plus shipping and only if no misprint occurs.

Didn't I write something like that before ?

To make it short
I do not print for other people - I have neither the time, nor the resources nor could I do it for an competitive price.
