Hi!

Now I know how I'd like my Imperial Fist painted. ;)

And we are back for February with the last of the Blood Raven's Thunderhawk Transporters and a converted Damocles. Not much to say really, but with these done I'll be moving on to the last of my battletech stuff. Enjoy! :)

What's up with the Blood Raven icon on top of the THawk? Just the light playing off the decal?

Unfortunately, yes, it's the light on the decal. Decals and dull varnish are two things I haven't mastered the use of. I get more frosts with paint on dull and decals than anything. :(

Your miniatures are just too beautiful. If I could paint like you do, I'd be painting all day too....
I fear it works the other way round, though.

@transfers: I heard that if you apply varnish on the area where the transfer should be FIRST, then attach the transfer (after varnish is dry), then varnish again, you don't get the frost (or whatever it's called).

I did however notice the same thing as Dave did. I usually to use Microset to diminish that effect from the decals, if that's what it is.

Edit:

I hadn't noticed your post before mine, Vaaish.

Another solution I sometimes opt for is cutting the decal nearer to the actual contents. It's a bit fiddly, but it has been working for me. Then again, I haven't been varnishing my models, which may be posing an entirely different set of problems.

Microset and Microsol are must haves.
Good rundown on their use => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Voh9C0-3Zn8

Regardless these are lovely, as always. True works of art. Can't you go and paint something crappy for once, jerk? ;)
