Wow. Just been looking at your BCTs and FW gun wagons MD, they look superb mate.

How did you do the weathering?

Cheers

That would be good to know mate, do you have it detailed in another thread/post? Weathering is something I've never been confident enough to try for fear of screwing the model up.
(Keep meaning to badger MoK about his, and forgetting...)

Cheers

Ok weathering my wagons.

The wagons are first drybrushed all over with my chosen metallic shade. Then i paint all the various colours on fairly neatly. Tidy up any major flaws then it weathering time.

First i spunge on random damage useing the base metallic colour. Then useing a tip from the FW model masterclass books i use a 2B pencil to add more damage to the edges of the armour panels and raised detail such as rivets.

After that i use Vallejo fleshtone shade to rust up the tracks and Vallejo black shade for exhaust emissions. Next i used MIG's "standard rust effects" wash to apply by loaded brush additional rusting to exposed metal surfaces and around rivets and other details. This stuff is very thin and will run around detail and along panel lines of it's own accord almost doing the job for you.

I have used light drybrushing to apply dust build up around the lower hull and running gear and MIG's "ochre for grey sand" filter to run into recesses and on the flat areas that the crew would have stood on to enhance the overall grimey look.

Hope this helps :)

No problem Reedar always glad to help. If you decide to try the MIG products i recommend experimenting with some old models first as they have the consistency of water and will flood the model if your not careful although you can use a brush to remove the excess before it starts drying. Also you need white spirit to clean the brushes.

Off to PAW 2014 this morning i have a package to pick up from Michael of Angel Barracks and i hope to come across a few epic items in the bring and buy. I'll update here if i have any lucky finds.

Cheers

Ben your welcome to put these pics up on the TG site if you want. I could probably do some better shots if you are interested.

That'd be great. :-)

No lucky finds at PAW 2014 unfortunately i was hopeing after last years haul to get lucky again but there was a distinct lack of epic models this year, just some plastic frames minus some of the figures, a few painted pieces and some chaos titan conversions for sale.

Still i got my nice pre-show ordered goodies from Michael of Angel Barracks fame and had a nice long chat about his products and possible future releases. He's looking for ideas for new models so if you can think of any suggestions then he'd like to hear them.
