Ok brief explanation of the khorne dreadnought: It makes an extremely good chaos warlord with 2x ccw. Secondly, It got stolen from a painting competition, wrecked and half painted over before I got it back and managed to restore it - This basically made me quit 40K, So it's been revived as a chaos warlord.
Army List: Imperator, legate. Warlord, Carapace lasers, sacred icon, 2x gattling blasters, 2x ccw, veteran princeps warhound, inferno gun, Vulcan mega, veteran princeps warhound, inferno gun, Vulcan mega, veteran princeps thunderbolts
Reasoning for the army list: See above for warlord, plus I owned an imperator and wanted to use it, and the warhounds are normally my ferals. Thunderbolts are filler.
Game 1 (Nids): Plan was simple - keep the imperator near my blitz to deny bts and blitz, and shoot anything that crossed into my half. Warlord was going to run at nearest objectives (30cm apart, on centre line) and have a big fight, warhounds would sweep up faast units crossing into my half, then play for objectives turn 3. Nids needing to engage to do anything meant they had to come near me, and the inferno+vulcan combo chunked the infantry units down to size. The warlord got stuck in, since the objectives were defended by nest hive thingies (immobile WE, so they couldn't run away heheh), and biotitans are basically cc anyway. I got a lucky break when one warhound broke, and got a freee double taking it onto the blitz turn 2 (and then rallying). Imperatror and warlord cleared off the obectives in oppoinents half, and the remaining warhound protected my own objective. Imperator turn 3 laser cannon death sentenced the dominatrix. End result 3-0 titans (BTS, blitz, take and hold).
Game 2: Albert Orksteins gargant bigmob. Was going up against a mega, a normal gargant, 2 mobs of boyz in fortress, and 3 units of 3 planes. Wasn't fussed about planes, they feared the tk freem laser on the imperators back, and from own experience with ork planes it needs usually 3 units to beat a warhound. Game plan was strip the power fields, to open up the tasty armour, and then plasma the crap out of it, and barrage the boyz into oblivion. Turn one removed all the powerfields from the mega, and some of it's hull points (thanks to 5x tk d3). When the boyz came into range, the warhounds would pounce on them with inferno guns - didn't matter they were in a building, ignore cover sorts that right out. Warlord again ran straight into centre of board and proceeded to shoot/assault whatever came within range (orks don't like firefight, and I was even better in CC). Managed to kill the mega in CC with the warlord (this was more because it was an awesome fight rather than a tactical manouver - I'd laid down the challenge, and he'd stepped up to it). I was also silly lucky, with him missing both TKD6 attacks, and me on only 2 hull points remaining. Imperator (having not gone further than 30cm from my own blitz) made short work of the gargant, drilling it with all 5 tk d3, leaving the blitz open for a warhound to snaffle. End result 3-0 titans (BTS, blitz, take and hold)
Game 3 - Eldar. Always going to be harder, firstly because was against more activations, secondly because eldar love RA, and thirdly because by now I was playing for the top table. Started the game by being hemmed in by rangers, meaning I had to assault them with the warlord simply to be able to move. Lots of terrain meant I wasn't going to be shooting anything easily, and managing to miss 10 of the 11 possible Tk shots from the imperator all game wasn't going to help. Imperator resolved itself to simply guard the blitz, and play for a draw/not too bad a loss. The warhounds got eaten, simply because they can't deal with 14 AT4+ shots popping up and shooting them. The warlord bizarrely going in CC with the warlock titan on turn 2 despite only being 20cm from my board edge, because my opponent marched it right up to him(?!) turn 1, in an attempt to get the initiative and try to wipe the imperator out. The warlord managed to get 5 of his 6 ccw attacks to hit, but 5 3+ from holofields meant nothing interestingly titan killer happened. The imperator then tried to break the warlock simply through inflicting 4BM on it (13 barrage points) so it couldn't activate (it took 3 damage from the previous combat) since my main plasma doohicky was recharging, but instead ended up killing it with the 4 battlecannons almost as an afterthought, leaving me with a slightly unexpected BTS. By turn 3 I had only the imperator and the planes left, so reolved to try for a 3-1 loss by protecting my blitz and BTS. My opponent tried to take out the imperator, leaving him only one unit which could make it to a certain objective, so that unit of course got barraged instead, and I managed to make the only tk shot of the game, killing.....(drumroll)...a guardian. It was enough to break them though, so end result was 2-1 loss Eldar: they shall not pass, Defend the line Titans: BTS
