I was thinking some form of fate or might points might be good for primarchs, like the ones in GW LotR. Keep them around a bit and help them tern the tide at crucial moments.

Maybe..... although the book keeping would be an irritation in such a huge game.....

I'm already looking at making damage and shield markers so you can tell at-a-glance the state of any titan (well any of mine....)

I shall be bringing 5k of Thousand sons, including Magnus-and-bodyguard.

Also, got 4k of (red) Imperial Guard tanks if they're needed.

If you are wanting to add something along those lines consider the old fate cards from epic40K.

A quick conversion to things relevant to Epic-A and you have a flavourful addition, as long as someone can remember the bonus' .

kyuss has reminded me that I have some painted imperials.

I can bring about 2.5k of loyalist red marines, a pair of mechanised skitarii inf coys with LR executioners and a reaver if needed. … oh and 4 deathworld based sentinels :/

Also got a 10 macharius and 3 or 4 gorgons, but those would be a bit anachronistic.

There were 3 players per side

- IG, Blood Angels, Salamanders and extra imperial fist for visitors who wanted to join in
- Iron warriors, Black legion and Death Guard

We did not fix exact points. Everyone brought 3 formations + one titan (chaos brought only 2 at the end, I did not finish painting mine). No aircraft. Just for decoration.

We pushed back the good guys pretty much, but when the end drew near, we quickly staged the fight between Horus and the Emperor

The table was a standard 120*180 cm

- some extra rules for the palace and the stats for the characters was done. I will ask for the electronic version and can post here or in our topic in English
- found the Primarch rules in the meantime.

How come I say Dark angels and it provokes fluff uproar but Mike says thousand sons (who weren't on terra at all IIRC) and nobody bats an eyelid?

due to the scale of the game, and size of the proposed table, I suggest possibly starting mid-game, just as the dies irae batters down the gate.... might need some maps drawing and pre-planning of where forces are deployed

just gives a sense of all-out battle from the get go, and since we only have a day to play it, gives more chance of a result, or at least more bloodshed if we're not spending the first turn advancing into range

Also what are people's thoughts on handling daemons? it's very characterful to have them included, but a tad fiddly keeping track of the pool and rolling to summon them.... maybe have them as formations in their own right, or include them with a formation permanently?

I have some plans re the situation at the beginning, hope to nail down numbers of player and then can firm it out.

I imagine TS at terra might be retconned if/when black library get there - given that they are nearly all dead
