Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thought, perhaps you could add some sort of cylindrical jet enginge underneath or at the back?

I've already deviced a colourscheme for these. I'm feeling like a child before X-mas and can't really wait untill i get my hands on a stygian army :)

Overall, your design are amongst the best I've seen ever. Keep up the brilliant work!

Agreed on the engine. The model looks fantastic.

Agreed on the engine. I'd also reposition the legs in a more bent position. Look for images of sport bikes being ridden and you'll see what I mean.

I'd also recommend keeping spikiness minimal - I'm tempted to get some for my Eldar right now, which wouldn't happen if they were spikier.

Not likely - but my caster is busting his hump to get 5 done, and 6a is at the printers.

Also agree on the need for engine parts, but I assumed you simply hadn't added them yet. I was thinking on the backs of the "wings", but that might singe the rider's knees.

I also vote for no spikes.

yeah I havent got that far just yet - there will be an engine on the back, intake on the front between the wings.

Lovely piece deacon.

Not popular i know but i'd like to see a forward pointing curved spike projecting over the rider from the rear section similar to the 40k DE raider asphetic. Maybe an optional item.

Been watching this thread with growing interest...

Stygian bikes: everything forward of the rider has a great look to it, but seems a bit too large; more like a small car front end than a sleek, run-you-down-and-behead-you-with-my-blades jetbike with sadistic/cruel/evil driver.

I love the basic look, especially the split wing with the inboard guns. I can live with no spikes, though I would like to see some forward curved blade/wings. I also agree I'd like to see a tighter, more tucked, rider posture, though the current one isn't bad.

But I have to agree with KaJo that it seems large. My first thought was that this was almost more like a Venom or Vyper than a jetbike in size. I just pulled out some Grandma Wendy jetbikes for both Space Elf races and they seem to check in at a total length of around 2 humanoid body heights. The prototype Ghast is almost 3 body heights long, which matches up pretty well with the gunboat/transport size, though the narrow back is obviously more jetbike in nature.

That said, I'd be perfectly content to see this basic design given a little more weight on the back end, either via running board platforms and railings for a transport (like a classic Raider) or some heavier outrigger gunpods for an attack craft. Those are both something the Stygian line is going to need eventually anyway. Then the frontend of the current design can be scaled down maybe 30-40% to make a jetbike that matches the aesthetic.

Don't want to speak for Deacon, but I would guess that it is going to look considerably less oversized and bulky shrunk down to regular size.

That's partially true - one thing to consider, is that if I want a "split" front like this, it will need to be a separate part - so I dont want it too small. Also - I'm going for a light attack craft vibe, rather than a standard hover bike, so it will be a bit larger than say, the sisterhood Nemesis. I'll post an update tomorrow.

You certainly nailed that vibe.

Someone previously stated that he would like these guys 'less spiky' so he can proxy them as someone else's IP range miniatures.

Could we please a) not use the these names, as Deacon requested and b) keep them spiky and distinct, these guys have a unique feel, I'd like too keep it.

:D
