Army List: Space Marines

The Achilles BPs don't combine, they don't have the @ symbol on their stats, so fire separately, hitting on 4+. Could potentially knock them to 4BPs.

Any thoughts to revising the points value or Razorbacks?

Could SM fliers just have the same stats as existing Navy fliers?

If you look further back in the topic we discussed the razorback and came to the conclusion of cutting their points so they are 6 vehicles for 200pts.

Some more items for discussion. Why is the armour save of bikes and land speeders worse than a normal marine? Was the improved marine save that was given to the rest not applied?
And I have always wondered why the bikes don't have +3CAF, they are meant to be assault marines and have their combat ability improved further by being on a bike!

Thoughts?

Hi!

The d6 is just not granular enough to reflect changes in armor amongst units, so you are forced to have a lot of overlap. I'd keep the save the same or maybe 6+ fixed as Ulric suggests.

That's why a lot of people would have preferred using a d10 or 2d6. That opens a whole range of options.

5+ is fine for marines, will use it for the bikes and speeders as well. We also have to remember that marine saves increased to 3+ in 40k some years ago.
I for one would not like to see d10s brought into the game, or multiples of d6s used outside of the few occasions we currently use them for.

Believe me the amount of work to update to a different die type is so much that I's rather build a system from scratch. ;)

Mattman, once this list is done and "update" lets go down the line and update them all for the platinum version.

Another item for discussion.
Should the Terminator Company be the same size as the others?
Obviously would increase the cost, but given what they are, they should only be rolled out rarely. Tying it in with the rest of the companies would be nice and it would allow easier implementation of the Land Raider Variants as transport upgrades (which is an option I am looking at for them).

Or maybe just re jig the numbers to make 2 detachments of 3 units rather than 3 detachments of 2?

Hi!

If I recall the fluff, the terminator company is smaller than the others becuase:

1. Not enough terminator suits to go around
2. Only proven veterans get them.

I'd keep them the same number with added land raider variant choices.
