Check it out guys - Gargoyle WIP. The armor falls somewhere between the hunter and slayer. There will also be male and female models.

Wow, if you could make an angelic winged sisterhood with flaming sword, that would be epic.

Ok, check it out:

Original Void rifle - Void burner / Void carbine / Void rifle

These work better imo - here are the new guns on a few of the models that will be carrying them (with the old one for comparison):

The poses for the hunters will likely remain - I don't want them to look "floaty" as they are going to be the Stygian's most heavily armored troops - I want them more grounded. The Gargoyles will be very "light" in contrast.

Depending on sales - the sisterhood will be bolstered with elite jump troopers in their next wave.

I was thinking, could you do one that was own on one knee and aiming down the barrel? That would break up the profile of them a bit and still be grounded I think.

I can see that. Basically my main concern is that all 5 pairs of legs for the Hunter squad are basically similarly arranged and static. One of the things I love about the whole of Onslaught's designs is that you do an excellent job of providing decent variation of sculpts that would make most 15mm lines jealous, let alone other 6mm lines. Most lines out there are happy with 1 or 2, at most 3, different poses, often with relatively little actual variation. You do pretty consistently 5 different poses for your infantry, most of which are fairly visibly distinct even at 6mm. That's a real treat, and makes doing varied stands real easy (he says, as he looks up from bending tiny arms on MWG Dread Elves to get more variation in posing...)

Given this, what about the other option I suggested to help break up the similarity? Poses with more aggressive "malice" to them, or perhaps stalking/posing/posturing? To pick some examples of places you've already done this, the Avian line in general has a lot of great examples. The Braves, for instance, you've got two 'walking' poses (the first and 4th from left), the Kinsman has a nice hip braced rifle + CQC weapon pose (the first from left), and the already mentioned Serpent Warriors with advancing poses. From the Sisterhood Themis Squad you've got the one sister with the outstretched firing pose. Several people have suggested a kneeling pose, which would also work.

Even in the Athena Assault squad, you've got some great torque in the poses which gives them a bit more individuality if you decide to stick with relatively stable leg poses. A little bit of weight shifting and some more rotation on the shoulders could go a decent ways.

I'm probably being a little greedy here, as my DE project is actually on hold for the Hunters specifically (though most of the other specialist troops are ones I'll be very happy to pick up too, especially grav speeders, gargoyles, and banshees), so I'd really like to see you nail these out of the park the way you did the Sisterhood. I was happy enough with your original sketches from months ago, but now... perfection is so close at hand. :)

It's amazing the effect of such a small change but I think the whole silhouette looks much better now.

DaR puts it very well re: poses. It's amazing how body language affects a mini.

2 and 3 with 4 as a heavy weapon would be good for me.
