One thing to note - those wings are mechanical and used for steering the user in flight.

For anyone interested, here's some more views of the hunter:

It's probably just me, but it looks like he's holding a giant can opener. :D

How else would you open that armor the Sisterhood has?

These models are awesome!!! About Gargoyles, I think they would look more aggressive and suitable as jump infantry wearing helms! However they look very nice also without!

I like the chest plates of the hunter but I also think the weapon is too big, it looks like a heavy weapon. Really liking the wings of the Gargoyle.

I really must agree that those guns are quite clunky. The helmets are ace though; could be great with a variation of them on the Gargoyles.

Well I like that gun but I can see where some variation would be good.

Everyone asking for less bulky guns,

Have you seen the sniper rifles on the Shinobi Snipers?

He has to bulk up certain things to make them castable (and visible) at 6mm scale. That stygian gun isn't going to look nearly as big when it is only as thick as this letter l on your screen.

You got it - I'm trying to experiment to keep it thick in at least one dimension... Maybe I can get something that looks better while maintaining castability and visibility.

I think the gun is fine. I think people are asking for a few carbines thrown into the mix.

I'd be interested in smaller guns on the jump troops. On the infantry, the guns are great as is. Don't change.

I think the gun is fine as well. Translating down to 6mm reduces the perceived bulk pretty significantly.

My only comment is that I'd like to see a little more variety in the posing. All 5 are in basically the same static "A" pose, feet wide, gun held roughly horizontal, and shoulders basically lined up with hips. The differences are subtle, and look good at display resolution, but I think on the table all 5 would look very similar for my liking. You did a great job on the Sisterhood and Avian squads getting some decent variation on posing in, and I'd like to see that here too.

Changing up one or two a little would go a long way. If anything, even their basic grunt infantry should be even more "acrobatic" than the other factions, since Stygians are solidified shadow. They should look less like they're planted in place, and more like the Sisterhood Minerva squad, light on their feet and darting about in constant motion. Or take a page from the Avian Serpent Warriors (in particular the second from left and rightmost in your final draft) and go for "advancing with malice", and have some with the rifle slung and blades in hand. Or rifles held in one hand and blade in the other.

If you want static poses for casting ease, then maybe play up the arrogance of the Stygians. You could do one with the rifle resting carelessly back over one shoulder and the other hand either on the hip ("Stygian Hunter is Not Impressed") or out and beckoning to opponents ("Stygian Hunter is calling you out, lowly maggot"). A kneeling pose wouldn't be horrible, either.

in with DaR. "static cool" or very mobile works for me. please keep the gargoyles helmetless = rule of cool.
i'm not worried about large rifles on the Hunters, some weapon variation may be nice

If reducing the rifle size is going to be a casting problem then maybe removing the rifles upper spine feature would help reduce the bulky look. I think this feature is contributing to the perceived big gun look.

Love the new gargoyle design by the way.
