The title is not an exaggeration, i found all of this lot at a great hobby/gaming shop called Heavy Support games in Toronto it is the only shop i have found that has a bit of everything and they even sell individual second hand miniature's. What a fracking find, well this happened about seven months ago and there is a bit of back story.

I had seen this lot sat on the shelf a few times i have gone into the store but they didn't want to sell it to me as the owner couldn't be contacted to sort out a price. I remember even calling them up and asking if they had spoke to the owner yet as i was really interested. So i had to go in to pick up a chimera i had ordered and again asked to buy it, again they hummed and harred, at this point i was getting a bit pissed off and said to them look, you have it on your shelf it is taking up a lot of space and you have a customer(me) willing to buy it, sort it out. In the end they said ok and that is when the fun began.

Originally i was only going to buy the imperial guard and space marine sprues but then thought why not try and get the whole lot. I love haggling, i really do, sadly we don't get as much change to practice this lost art of negotiation that often in modern society. So i put my best poker face on and we were off, after a good starting offer from myself and the expected higher counter offer from them. I then gave them a middle ground counter offer, that was good enough for them and we settled on a price. OMG i got it for a Bargain, to be fair i know how much it is worth they didn't. For the icing on the cake they helped me bring it all to my car. Great bunch of guys and a brilliant shop/game centre.

I am really lucky to have found this lot, but it does show there is still a lot of Epic stuff out there.

Gives me an excuse to head out there for a game (and some of the better bagels and novalox in NA). Just not during winter though ;)

Hi!

Good find!

It's always worth going through old hobby shops for these finds.

After 25 years I still do it and surprises to show up. :)

So true! I found a warmonger, new on sprue, in a shop a few years ago. The owner was even an honest guy: he let me have it at the original sticker price, just to see it go to someone who would give it a good home.

Another game store in Toronto- they're a bit thin on the ground it seems. Where's it at? I only know of Dueling Grounds and I tried hard to find games stores in TO when I was there last. Will likely be there again next year if you're up for a game. :)

More Epic gamers in Toronto the better, if they can handle the nasty winters. Any time you are about jimmyzimmz. Not going to say the price, just that it was a good one. I really enjoy going into older games shops just incase you come across a gem.
Nice find with the Warmonger Titivillus, and a cool shop owner as well.
Dobbsy it is at islington and the queensway, always up for a game.

Nice catch :D

Once 1999 maybe, I went to my local GW dealer.
I asked for Epic 40K stuff.
I knew Epic 40K was finished and they just had some stuff left.

They said: "Epic40? we have some stuff there, look if you find something"
There where 2 drawer mostly Orc, Imperial, IG and some Tyranid stuff Blisters and Boxes.
I started digging but one of them said
"took it all for 50DM(about 20 Pounds 40 Dollar)

I was shocked, did he really said all for 50?
"ahm yes okay" I tried to stay cool ;)
He helded me to put all the stuff in to 2 big bags.
While we were packing he said:
"uhm thats a lot"
I said:
"okay I have 100(40 Pounds 80 Dollar)"
He:"okay yes"

I went out with so much stuff, I could hardly carry it.
I went home and started to count.
I got stuff for 100DM worth 1700(about 680 Pounds 1400 Dollar) ;D ;D
a lot of Blisters were of the same kind(I still have some) but it was a big(my biggest) catch.

Hi!

The year 1999 was definitely the best year ever for epic deals. GW had officially killed epic 40k and everything was on clearance. I landed my largest deals that year. Including 2500 dollars of blisters for 600 bucks!

It wasn't only stores though. The amount of people dumping their collections was staggering, but the prices, OMG! I literally got stuff FOR FREE, as in people saying, "take it, I don't play that anymore". It was ludicrous.

Between 1999-2001 was when the primarchload really took off. I calculated once around 2004, that during that period I paid 20% retail (80% discount) on average for my acquisitions. Literally thousands of dollars (over 10k by a loose estimate), for around 2k investment.

I miss those days. ;)

Those days were extremely good for the primarchload. ;D
