Lol! Show it to us at least! :D

Well, for Epic you could always do terrain, cities and such. Then there would be tanks, dropships, titans, etc.

Ok, but promise you won't tell anyone! :spin

I made these in epic scale, but they are of course a purely theoretical exercise. I just wanted to see if I could model them.

[REDACTED BY THE INQUISITION]

A titan, you say? I don't think I could ever reach the level of the awesome Reaver Titan I've seen around here (and that I tried for ages to get my hands on.... :nooo ), but I might try!

Edit: Ok guys, I think it's better if I remove these pictures, I have no intention to put those models on sale at all, and it's better to be safe than sorry!

Hmm, you could try to make a more blocky version of the Contemptor Dreadnought?

Well, I guess I could...You mean with the proportions of the contemptor, but the aesthetic of the standard dread?

Well, I'll try and see what I can do!

By the way, for everyone interested, there's a promotion on Shapeways, until the end of Monday!

I'm copy/pasting:

"Take $15 OFF any order of $100 or more. Use code s1e5s by Midnight PDT on October 21st."

If you want to try, the time is now!

Hi everyone!

A few pics of a little model I made yesterday!

It's supposed to be used as a Viper Destroyer, the frigate from Battlefleet Bakka that is basically a Cobra with no weapon batteries and 3 torpedoes...

Since vipers tend to have wide flat heads, I tried to somehow incorporate this in the design, to try and show the origin of the ship's name... Hope you like it!

Thank you! The good thing is that it's 3 cm long, so it won't cost me a lot!

By the way, does anybody know how big a kroot sphere is, roughly?

Hi everyone! I’m here with a new update!

Ok, this is a long one, so be prepared for a lot of ranting! No peeking to the end, it’s funnier this way!

First of all, a confession: I really dislike kroot. And I dislike even more the idea of kroot flying around in space on a giant hamster ball.

Even thus, I liked the idea of using a ship with the kroot sphere rules, so I tried to think of something that I could use as a count as.

Now, let me sum the main characteristics (in my opinion) of the kroot sphere:
- Large model;
- Very dangerous in boardings;
- Average shooting;
- Doesn’t suffer critical hits (just more damage);
- Catastrophical hits automatically release a cloud of blast markers;
- Good in planetary assault, but only when physically touching the planet.

Now, with all this in mind, and being a Demiurg fan, I devised another method of asteroid mining for our beloved space dorfs: the Demiurg mining rig!

The idea is that, when Demiurg don’t want to mine the whole asteroid, but they only want its choicest minerals, they cut off a portion of the asteroid and land some engine modules and the rig itself on it.
The rig then releases a series of probing, mining and transporting drones that find and gather the chosen materials, and when they are done it’s a simple matter of recovering the Rig and enjoying the new riches!

With this in mind, I started checking if it would fit the sphere “characteristics”:
- Large model – check;
- Very dangerous in boardings – The drones would “harvest” the boarded\boarding ship, so I’d say check;
- Average shooting – the rig only has some defense armament, it’s not a frontline vessel;
- Doesn’t suffer critical hits (just more damage) – since it’s largely made of “asteroid”, it sort of fits;
- Catastrophical hits automatically release a cloud of blast markers – same here, when it explodes the asteroids absorbs the impact and becomes blast markers;
- Good in planetary assault, but only when physically touching the planet – not a serious shooting, but I imagine the drones (each supposedly as big as a titan) could wreak serious havoc on a planet.

Now the model! I designed it as a series of components (namely the rig, engines and various drones), to be added to a core of Styrofoam “asteroid” roughly 15cm x 10cm x 5 cm. In the pictures, the purple solid stands in place of the asteroid slice.
Picture time!

First the large views:

Then a detail of an engine module:

Continues….

Now some probing (centipedes) and mining (ticks) drones!

And finally, a couple details of the main rig, with the drone bays, and lots and lots of square demiurge thingies!
