I agree Deacon ... quaility over quantity ... and quaility normally takes a little longer ...

I don't think the rivets fits too well with the overall design of the sisterhood, either on the top or the bottom doors. The 2 part doors are mighty cool, but I would like other details than rivets, which seems to be the default way of adding details in far too many ranges in my opinion.

About the packaging comments earlier. I'd just want to add my own personal input here. I always throw away all packaging, with art or without, cardboard or plastic, bags or cases. Just saying... Don't let packaging be a showstopper or added cost. (My idea that is.)

Packaging is needed if you want to get into brick and mortar shops, but selling through EW is still internet sales isn't it?

Got to have packaging, but baggies and card headers is sufficient, no problem.

I haven't ordered anything from onslaught yet.

Were there to be a EU/UK distributor, then I would order at least some odds and ends of what is so far available.

HOWEVER- It doesn't matter to me where I order the Stygian from as that is the army I really really want. I'd prefer to order from the uk and avoid the cost (I was hit with an awful cost when I got my Microworld game parcel (Mrs Rex hit the roof when I told her how much it was!) But if it means I wait an extra week or two after the release to cover the cost of royal mails thievery, then so be it.

Ever one is desperate for a EU supplier, but just remember that who ever sells them is going to want their cut of the profit. I'd Rather more money when to deacon to keep his hobby going- which will mean more models in the future!

And packaging....Pfffff! Blisters just mean more to tear through to get to the goods! I'd happily receive my minis in screwed up old newspaper if it keeps the cost down! Let GW and Mantic have their fancy pants packaging, lets keep our niche cheap!

Maybe have an option for packaging? Cheap or Nice. Is that possible?

Hey, please don't think i'm nagging. I work in a creative industry and i know just how much it drags when you have to work to order (that's one reason i got back into mini painting - no deadlines and no really utility - creativity for my own satisfaction :)

I'd agree, take your time you get the best results. However there have been posts about funding stream issues and i just wanted to make it clear why i haven't ordered yet. I'm cool to wait a 2,3,4 years to order if the rest of the ranges look as good as this, but with the added costs of P&P etc i wouldn't do so until there was a usable army available in one hit. i guess your bank manager won't be so patient !

My view is you have 2 maybe 3 options if you need this to fund itself (and i was under the impression your plan is to make this your prime occupation) :

A. Concentrate on 2/3 factions and create a basic revenue stream which funds your through the next 8 factions.

B. Work on loads of really cool CAD models in your own time, generate a huge buzz then drop a crowdfunder to get them into production.

C. Do the same as above but on an ad-hoc basis - ie. only put the models which generate a level of pre-order interest into production (not really sure how you organised the legality of orders without the back up of an intermediary like kickstarter etc though.) Yes, kick starters sound a lot of work, but doing it yourself sounds harder to me.

I think you also need to be realistic about what you can do alone. One precedent to look at is probably Hawk Wargames. That guy managed a rule set, 4 lines of models and all the terrain etc for one huge launch ( that said the inability to produce models fast enough nearly sank it in the first few months.) But this took several years of full time work afaik and i'm not sure how much was generated before he left his previous employer. I would imagine it also required a mega ton of upfront funding. Likewise, developing the range is nowat a crawl as i imagine he is mostly wrapped up in business stuff now.

If i were you i'd try to stay focused on the design end ( keep enjoying it) and look to partner up for the manufacturing/distribution.

Looking forward to seeing this develop however it happens... :)

I was just thinking of this the other day, and I would like to suggest "Gojira Mega Rig" as a name for a giant OTC rig.

I'm thinking that a lot of issues may be solved when SCP gets their Onslaught store up and running.
