Hey folks

I've just had this shown to me over on facebook, I see it's been linked in the 'From Epic to Dropzone Commander' thread but I think the news is big enough for it's own thread here.

http://www.hawkwargames.com/products/2- ... tarter-set

There's a thread on DakkaDakka showing the contents & sprues.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/po ... 46114.page

All the for £60!

If I'm honest this looks great, price being the major reason I've not gotten into DZG yet, that'll certainly change if I can get some local folks interested & figure out where to store it :(

If it was phr I'd have found the money somehow to pre-order already!

I'd be the same with them or even Shaltari, I may not be too in love with the infantry but those vehicles are gorgeous!

If the core moves to plastic I see a bright future for this game.

That was exactly my thought when i saw the announcement. Shame the whole back story seems to revolve around the scorge - which though they have an interesting fluff - the models just dont seem to work...

Yeah right, I hadn't noticed that - I'd be all over the equivalent for phr...

Clever move on their part. A plastic starter set is the way to go.

hopefully they'll move PHR and Shaltari to plastic soon, and either release cheaper army sets or a variant boxed game (I mean all it takes is removing sprue sets A+B and replacing with C+D... maybe they could even do custom ones....)

If they're going to sell the box in stores, it would require retailers to keep twice the number of different starter kits in inventory, which is not unproblematic.

I imagine they're hoping sales of the starter set will fund further plastic box sets. I have to stop looking at the Warstriders, they're too pretty...
