Hi!

So with one full box of trays filled I almost emptied two of my old plastic boxes. These can hold a lot of infantry, so it was impressive to fit them all into just one box of trays.

Onto the next!

Hi!

First row.

Second row

I wanted to try other sizes, especially the larger ones.

I think these models would be better off in a D or J case since they are wider, but they do fit.

Hi!

The V2H cases are perfect for warhound sized units. I also think these are batter off in the wider D's and J's.

Image

The V1H trays (the largest) are good for Phantom titans and warlords with banner poles or the banelord.

Image

You probably could use the D and J cases for these, although I just took out the interior and put them it.

Image

The V2H seem the most versatile for larger models.

Hi!

While not optimal (I plan on getting some of the D and J cases for these), you could stack older superheavies in the V2H's.

Hi!

What I have learned:

1. The V4H is the best all around tray for infantry (especially based with the old square ones). It can carry a large amount of infantry and will accommodate a good amount of smaller sized vehicles.

2. For super heavies, especially FW super heavies I'd go with D4h or J4H, since the wider diameter will let you place one in each slot.

3. V2H are best suited for ordinatus vehicles and knights, placed standing. While many things fit in these, I think the wider width of the D and J cases are better for some epic models.

4. The height of the V2h case is good for warhound sized units, but I think the D case is wider and they fit better there.
You need V3H to fit reaver and warlord sized models. they will fit in the V's but probably more comfortably in the D and J's. You need V1H for eldar phantoms and equally tall models.

5. I ordered the equivalent of 1 full 1200 case (6 boxes) of V4H. That was a good idea. These will acomodate most epic scale infantry and vehicles. If you have lots of FW super heavies, titans and aircraft the D and J cases are better than the V's, since the slot diameter is larger.

Nice photoreport! I think you'll quickly become the expert in KR's tray sizes for Epic :D

Hi!

The Information several of you gave was very good and accurate. I actually thought the capacity and use of the trays exceeded my expectations for them.

While I think any of the trays are good for holding basically anything that will fit, for epic I think a combination of V, D and J trays (particularly those with the 4H designation) are the most optimal.

While no one or two cases could ever hold the primarchload, I actually think 3 to 4 of them can hold everything once its all painted. Which is beyond what I original thought was possible (I was thinking more like 8 originally).

it was money well spent, and if you collect epic, these are a good investment.

Hi!

I found KR customer service to be excellent. I don't say this lightly since I am very demanding with high ticket items. They informed me every step of the way and told me when they were shipped with tracking info and provided me with pictures of the cases to make an informed decision.

Blip, if your in the US, I suspect that your LGS would have preferred you get army transport because their margins are higher through their distributor. Ordering from KR may either take time or yield lesser margins for them. Anytime a LGS drags their feet on a special order, its because their is "less money" in it for them. Save yourself the grief and order online.

Remember this is coming from someone whom was a LGS owner in the past. I know all their dirty little ticks and secrets. IMO the age of the LGS is over, go online, with very few exceptions its always better.

I consider them to be a very efficient and customer friendly business. :)

Nah, UK based.

They are a huge internet trader too. They're all nice guys but absolutely no clue about customer service. If an item is in stock they are great, but anything out of stock is a nightmare. I normally like to buy from local shops for all my shopping (supports local wages etc.) but this is the third separate item (DZC and dystopian wars) i have asked about ordering/restock and they have never got back to them despite frequent drop-bys to remind them. Its not a "primarch" order but i would of thought £50ish would make a dent in the days taking... hey ho. Wish it was just me but everyone i know moans about them. Only other local option is wendy unfortunately...

Irony is, their ebay shop service is excellent. :-)

Shame you're in Gothernburg (?) I'd happily take those 6mm trays off your hands but i suspect not worth it in postage (?) :-\

Hi!

Weird they have a good internet shop and not in person. Or maybe not that weird, its what the markets moving to. A physical shop has too many demands and overhead.

In my experience if your not talking about several hundreds of dollars in a special order, you'll get ignored. It also depends if the distributor places any minimum order restrictions, then its a real long wait!
