I played Squats for the first time in Net-EA today, which was nice :)

I'll post up some thoughts later after dinner but just mentioning that there's a probable typo in the Colossus. Presumably it's autocannons should be 45cm range not 75cm?

I played my first ever Net-EA game against squats today which was nice (I used to play them a lot as a teenager in Epic: Space Marine). I'm not going to do a battle report but will post up our lists (approximate for the squats) and a few comments.

PITHEAD [50]

IRON EAGLE [275]
4 Iron Eagle Gyrocopters

OVERLORD [475]
2 Overlords

COLOSSUS [450]

BIKERS GUILD [225]
Guild Master unit, 7 Guild Bike

BIKERS GUILD [225]
Guild Master unit, 7 Guild Bike

ROBOT [225]
5 Robot units

WARRIOR BROTHERHOOD [350]
Hearthguard unit, 9 Warrior units, Rhinos, Grand Warlord Character

BERZERKER BROTHERHOOD [175]
Hearthguard unit, 5 Berserkers

WARRIOR BROTHERHOOD [450]
Hearthguard unit, 9 Warrior units, 4 Rapiers, Living Ancestor Character

THUNDERFIRE [100]
2 Thunderfire

TACTICAL DETACHMENT [425]
6 Tacticals, Chaplain, Land Raider, Razorback

TACTICAL DETACHMENT [375]
6 Tacticals, Land Raider, Razorback

DEVASTATOR DETACHMENT [325]
4 Devastators, Land Raider

ASSAULT DETACHMENT [175]
4 Assault Units

LAND RAIDERS [400]
4 Land Raiders, Hunter

PREDATORS [325]
4 Annihilator, Hunter

VINDICATORS [225]
4 Vindicators

LAND SPEEDERS [200]
5 Landspeeder

LAND SPEEDERS [200]
5 Landspeeder

TERMINATOR DETACHMENT [350]
4 Terminators

3k game, Space Marine victory. Squats conceded during turn 3 as half their army was dead and all the rest (bar the un-shot-at Colossus and biker formation trapped down the mine) was broken, with not much damage to the space marines (one Land Speeder formation wiped out and some casualties here and there). I played well but luck was definitely significant - I had very large amounts of dice rolls go above averagely well for me during the game, including a number of assaults.

I was scared of the Colussus, but managed to keep my important units of line of sight of it as much as possible and it didn't do as much damage as I expected. Those Overlords really put out a lot of firepower! I got lucky firing 2 Land Speeders at them (with crossfire to 2 nearly broken Assault Marines) and managed to get a critical. I love the idea of the pit head, it seems appropriate. The Biker formation assaulting out it was unlucky to cause no damage to the Land Raider formation and then get wiped out from resolution. Then I sat a tactical formation on it and prevented the other biker formation from ever coming out. I like the look of the squat list after looking through it. Autonom really helped the robots, I crossfired the garrisoned ones early on not knowing it was ineffective.

Not relevant to our game but I'm unclear on the Cyclops critical, I think the wording should be changed. Is it that you roll one dice at that point and on a 5+ the next time the Hellfury Cannon fires it looses 1DC? Or is it every time it fires from then on? The Termite's notes is missing the word 'no' also.

hello gentlemen!

Glad to see, that the development is still going on :) and i like the new land train.
50 Points per wagon : " i like". , but i am not sure what my oppents will think about it. :wah
I will find out by building a train with 3 rad boms (for the second template) and one berserker car to get a little bit more protection in case of a cc.
By reducing the costs from 125 to 50 you can do that and the laind train wil be used more often (for my part)

Another version of the train i built in the past to face the orcs was the land train with (dragon) battle wagons 4*4 ignore cover. Brace for impact >:D .

kind regards

Stefan
