You know those banking bags for loose change that you can get for nothing from all good (and bad) banks? Each bag takes a detachment or company apiece, helps me find stuff relatively quickly. And then the bags get lobbed into shoe boxes.

As you can imagine, I take a lot of care with my minis - and no expense is spared! :whistle

This has been useful for me as i plan to order a couple of new cases soon. Unfortunately also in the UK.

Generally everyone seems to agree KR 6mm trays are too small. What would people advise ? I'm also not sure whether to go for their own cases or the replacement GW trays (as i have several GW hard case -1990s and 2000s - and i could swap in and out for transport.)

I have a mix of bases across armies - SMs on 10x40mm, IG on 25x25 and 10x40mm and Eldar on 25mm rounds, plus plenty of tanks, super heavies, titans, etc.

If someone had pics of epic minis in KR trays I'd appreciate a look.

Mate,

I would go for the Sabol Army Transporter trays, you can make the slots you want and I think that would suit your diverse range of bases. I have friends in the US buy them for me and pop them in the post.

Cheers
Aaron

I would reiterate Figures in Comfort are good. UK based and very friendly.
Lots of trays with different size holes and they also do pluck type so you can make your own holes.
They do most of the major conventions if you wanted to go and have a look at their products. Their show list has them in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Newbury, Derby, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Reading, Middlesborough and York between now and February.

So... like never then ;)

Ha! Anyways I really like those but I'm rather looking for something that's a bit ruggedized. We're going to be doing a big move next year that's going to involve me finally packing up my workshop and I'd really like stuff to be well protected from the "throwers". We're crossing oceans here so really needs to be able to last. Suggestions?

Rastaman you are a star (and thanks for the thought too Redar :D )

The 23mm, 40x25s sound like they would work for my (eclectic :) ) range of different era stuff. Will prob buy 2 different size sets - keep half in drawers and select trays to transport to games in a GW case (which i got 2nd had and the foam has been butchered.) Ideal.

Thanks for the tip Mattman. Good prices when bought individually! I'm currently being swayed by KR's comparability with GW case. I can't see a overall size on the webstore - they look quite small - do you have some and have a ruler to hand ?

Hi!

Many thanks Rastamann for the Pics. The primarchload will have some storage worthy of them. :)

Hi guys,

Sorry it's late!

Here's a couple of pics of a case I've got that is great for storing Epic infantry/light vehicles.

I've found anything up to and including Ork battle wagon size fits well.

You get 5 trays to a KR case, so a fair bit of capacity...

Those trays look cool reedar.

I always found egg box style foam to be good for epic scale. There is a GW case with a sort of double clam shell setup, one in the lid and one in the base. I've just got one and will get another when one comes up on eBay again...

Thanks Reedar. Presumably those are the 6mm/10mm KR trays ? Generally others have said they are too low but it looks ok there.

My issue is that i'd like to use my GW plastic case for transport to games and i assume that as they sell specific trays compatible with GW cases their standard size is different (so half trays are difficult to include too) ? Can anyone confirm ?

Hi!

Reedar and Rastamann, if I were to buy a 1200 aluminum case that has 6 "cases" how many individual trays of the types mentioned would that total to?

Or phrased in another way how many trays to a case?

Cheers. I've got a couple of those dual egg shell cases. They don't hold as much as much as a KR, but I find them perfect for transporting my army to tournies/games. Saves me lugging my whole collection around!

Cheers
