Investing in Army Transport bags was one of the best things I ever did. I own two of the standard bags and extra trays to fill a third one. I'm tempted to buy the Motor Pool bag which holds trays side by side, making it easier to remove things on the bottom.

Hi!

It will be division sized bags for me... or three.... ;)

Holy shit, I didn't know they're in Colebrook. Cool. Not that it would save me any in shipping, unless I could drive there to pick up stuff. :P

Hi!

How would you compare the prices, capacity and such between the two DS?

I store epic in citadel cases, KR cases, takeaway containers, FW shipping boxes, compartmented plastic boxes, and on card trays. I pile it into old spray can lids, the upturned plastic of old blister packs, zip-lock bags, in it's original boxes, plastic business card holders, type cases, padded envelopes, and stacked in envelopes inside little tidies i've made from cut down MWG shipping boxes. I store it beside itself, around itself, on top of itself, and on occasion inside itself. Wrapped in tissue, wrapped in paper, bubble-wrap, guilt, polystyrene, joy, and foam. On shelves, on tables, in drawers, in stacks, stooks, piles, heaps, temporary sorting corrals, and, the best storage method of all: by lending it to other people so that it's not my problem. I'm not sure I so much store it, as gather it up as a sign for help and impending financial distress. Unfortunately no one notices as the only people interested in the mass storage of very small sci-fi things are other people interested in very small sci-fi things, and as such they are in no position to help.

EPIC!!

I've an ikea showcase with glass windows where all the army are in, about the scenic elements, I sleep upon them, are everywhere in my room. Under the gaming table I've an huge box where I store the Hills huge elements.

I have an old Makita drill case which I've lined with super expensive anti static egg-crate style foam (stolen from work ;)) need much more storage now though as my shelves are filling up and I've just started 3 warmaster armies too....

Apoc put it best, wherever stuff will fit is where it ends up living!

Sadly most of these places people are talking about are in the us and I'm in the uk I have to say I'm surprised someone hasn't thought of the ideal solution usually when theres a need someone has a genius idea and produces it but then I guess as people were saying Epic is kinda a niche market now. I'm currently stacking stands 2 to compartment in standard 28mm foam but they keep jumping up and sticking together its annoying I've just got my first two armies painted and I've no where to keep em safe :(

Kr mulitcases … UK based, and make a whole set of 6mm trays. 6mm is a bit small for epic really, so try their in-between sized ones.

I use this for my orks...

Since I took the photo I added dividers and a thin layer of foam where necessary.

Gargants are in an ice-cream box. ;D

I still use GW cases because I have, well, alot of them. I have started replacing the foam with Battlefoam inserts as they start to fall apart, which have tha added advantage of a thinner (and sturdier) backing that allows four trays deep. I use Army Transporter for my BFG and have been reasonably happy with it. Other stuff with smaller footprints (Necromunda, Blood Bowl, VaS, and a large part of my bits and desprued models) are in craft storage boxes from Hobby Lobby. Not fancy, but cheap at $2 a pop.

I use Figures in Comfort cases and foam.

http://www.figuresincomfort.net/

I like the fact they have lots of different size cutouts and it is relatively easy to work out which size you want, plus they give you an option of depths.

I have a midi case with various different size foams for different models. I like the midi as it stacks the foam vertically so you are less likely to have models falling out of the slots when you carry it and they are not stored/carried on their sides.
Tray 4 which is meant to be for normal 28mm figures, I use it a couple for troop stands. Each slot can hold two bases of troops (mine are on the round fenris ones). The slot also fits knights.
I use tray 18 for small vehicles like rhinos and predators.
I have tray 5 for larger vehicles like land raiders, would most probably fit super heavies.
The last tray I have is a 32 (at depth C, 70mm) which holds my titans (warlords, reavers and warhounds). They all fit in the holes standing up, so no need to lay any down.

Everything seems to work nicely for me.

Matt

This has been useful for me as i plan to order a couple of new cases soon. Unfortunately also in the UK.

Generally everyone seems to agree KR 6mm trays are too small. What would people advise ? I'm also not sure whether to go for their own cases or the replacement GW trays (as i have several GW hard case -1990s and 2000s - and i could swap in and out for transport.)

I have a mix of bases across armies - SMs on 10x40mm, IG on 25x25 and 10x40mm and Eldar on 25mm rounds, plus plenty of tanks, super heavies, titans, etc.

If someone had pics of epic minis in KR trays I'd appreciate a look.
