I know, I know it's free stuff, but I really like the current sculpts, and if there were a melee weapon wielding leader AND a shooty weapon wielding leader per side, everyone would be happy ... I recon that if you make it a 5 men metal sprue with 2 leaders/standard bearer/officer per side...

I'll run the numbers as the campaign closes. If we can afford something better without impacting what goes on the plastic sprue (we're probably talking ~£300 in costs to TMG to do these free leaders, BTW, albeit we'll be able to sell them down the line to make back the sunk cost), then it'll happen.

I've always been cautious on this campaign about over-promising before things were paid for, so I don't want to get carried away and promise the moon now... but if the finances work out, we'll over-deliver. :-)

Oh I think the "Sculpt me an X!" pledges are good for that. ;-)

I think I understand how you work now. But I also think I can't stress enough the value of making things public. Some of the people who know you, and have dealt with you in the past - and there are quite a few of us here - will have enough trust and confidence to give you money for a promise that "we'll make the best we can with it". But most people won't.

The setup cost for a metal sprue is not free (I should know), but that's the kind of investment that can still be absorbed relatively easily, specially as you'll have to set-up custom molds already for the sculpt me a leader perk.

Of course, in the end I understand finance is what makes thing possible or not, and of course the first goal should be to get the best sprue possible, because it is the best start possible for your company. You want these to be as appealing as possible to sell some more after the campaign.

Hey, that's true enough. I can't help but think that a universal collector mini that all those who backed the project would get sounds like a great perk and great community building :) I know I'd like one, even if I'm not particularly commercially naive :)

I'll let it go, I understand the constraints, but I wanted to throw the idea in the air anyway. Do your best !

Yay, new pic on the page! An in-pic disclaimer would have made it perfect, but hey! This is probably close enough to what is coming anyhow.

love the leader renders. if the human leader does not make it, then he would be
great in a riot Pretorean pack! perhaps including 2 man teams of guys, one of which has a cattle prod/zapper pole and the other guy carries a 2 man riot shield?

I really like the feral boark supreme, though he could do with an oversized gun hanging off somewhere.

I'm not so convinced on the human leader, he looks very fantasy-like with the sword and shield. Primitive works for the aliens, but close-combat obsessed senior command is a bit of a GW foolishness rather than something realistic for a real world or futuristic military. I think you're imagining the two of them squaring off against each other and have said you want to keep it. I think you should tweak it slightly though, to make it more futuristic. Add a holstered pistol hanging down from his belt for one and two, a rectangular visor would look good, going half way so it's only on his left side covering one eye. It could be imagined to be projecting troop positions on a tactical map or something. Possibly a comms backpack with antenna too.

What's on his shield? It looks like some icon or detail but I can't really make it out under the black effect.

Good going on numbers :)

I think the shield might be a bit much. The sword is definitely okay for me, even IRL officer kept swords for a long time after the advent of efficient rifles, at least for ceremonial purposes.

Congrats on the success!

Hey glyn, the shield icon is the DiD lion head icon - the symbol of our human army.
The leaders will also get guns.
I'm about to go out of contact for about 4 hours... I'll announce the 11k goal before I do... Should I seriously prepare a 12k goal?!?!

it's not unheard of for campaigns to raise 20% of the total in the last 2 days. It might be worth thinking about a 12k goal...

Post at least two more stretch goal after 10K. It's quite okay to have one that doesn't get reached. Keep in mind you don't have to use round number. If you feel like using other numbers for whatever reason (significant date, 11111 looking nice, etc...), go for it. People like originality.

You could even put up a 50K stretch goal as a joke, where you'll offer free TMG Pins or something.

I don't really think we'll see 12K but it can't hurt to have a goal - and it is a definite possibility. I think you can go slightly crazy with it, it's obvious you didn't set out for such success, and people will relate to that; the real beauty of crowdfunding is that everyone participating feels involved; the more people relates to your adventure, the better.

Prepare something celebratory for the end of the funding campaign.

It would be slightly sad to cross the finish line without a Bang.

Hi Ben

Due to the free Sprues for your stretch goals (Thank you!) I've got a few more APCs than I thought I would when I planned out an Epic Army. Is it possible to buy some of the metal add ons separately? I can't buy any more of the big perks, but I may be able to sneak a few more quid past the wife...

I was after 2 Braveheart Turrets (Epic Armageddon lists come in groups of 3, and I've bought 1 pack of 4) and possibly a couple of Alien Macrocannons if I can stretch funds.

Please could you let me know if this is a possibility; Fair enough if it's not, but if you don't ask, you don't get. It may not add many more £s to the pot, but hopefully every little still helps!
