OK - so here's the final Avian unit for now - the Kinsmen:
Image

So that makes:

War Chieftan - Commander unit
Kinsmen - Sub-commander unit
Shamans - Psychic / Mystic unit

Braves - Basic fighting unit
Ghost Walkers - Infiltrating unit
Raptors - Flying unit
Scouts - Sniper unit
Serpent Warriors - Close Assault unit

Here's what remains for the Avian Line (I'll finish these up after the next task):

- Pack Master (beast handler and hunting hounds)
- Kleok Riders (dinosaur-like beast cav. unit)
- Kleok Cannon Beast (cannon platform cav. unit)
- Kleok Bull (larger version of the Kleok)

Now - Onto the OTC tanks!

And so it begins...

Take a look at the following "shape" drafts. Keep in mind this is an extremely early draft - at this point I am simply flushing out basic shapes and silhouettes.

How do these grab you? Positive / Negative - Right or Wrong direction, etc. The tank will have VTOL engines for sure - does a pair of them look good, or does quad engines look more like what an anti-gravity tank should have?

Please discuss anything that you like or dislike - shape of engines, hull, etc. Possible weapon placement, misc. details all that stuff.

Let's get this idea ball rollin' :)

Hmmm... A good start. I quite like the four engine variation but I think the guns need to sit under. for a better comparison between the two I think you also need to figure out a way to lose some width. Either smaller/narrower front engines or lose some of the width from the nose.

Looks really promising though...

A very nice base shape! I suppose you could easily design support variations with turrets on top of that flat rear roof. Agree that frontal guns are fitted below on modern looking aircraft.

I like the first one. +1 to underslung guns, if it can be done without totally hiding them?

Love it. I think the first one looks better, even though the second one makes more sense.

I really prefer the side-mounted guns in the first example. So much more practical at this scale - it's great when both players can tell at a glance roughly what kind of weaponry it's carrying.

Agree with all of this.

The first one looks better to me. If the guns could be recessed beneath the flarey-outy bits*, it'd be still better.

I too like the side mounted guns, maybe add shields to them like with your drones.

The first for sure. I prefer the side mounted guns, less for aesthetics (no preference there) than for the uniqueness it adds to the design.
