I know I know, not wargaming related (although he wrote quite a few songs about war....)

Slayer Guitarist, Founder and Songwriter Jeff Hanneman has passed away from liver failure, he was 49

His music may not be to the tastes of many here, but he was a huge talent and influence on the thrash metal world..... he wrote nearly all of Slayer's most iconic songs and I am utterly devastated by this news, this has been one of the shittiest weeks in a long time for me, and this just sticks it in and breaks it off....

Sad news indeed. Only yesterday I was listening to Angel of Death while trying to reach mach2 on the treadmill....

It's dark times, still all the tributes have been heart warming.

I grew up with Slayer :-)

How truthful it is (I tend to take everything on facebook with a grain of salt) I dont know but apparently there's a group of religious types planning to picket line his funeral. Good luck to them. If the fans let a single one of them leave there unscathed I'd be surprised.

Going slightly off-topic, and running the risk of moving into political/religious territory.... *looks around for a mod*... The Westboro Baptist picket lots of funerals of a lot of types, inlcuding military officers, etc. Lets move on from that....
