On 21st April I had the honor of hosting Vaaish who's in the UK for vacation at my humble hobby Den in Guildford. Elsmore, Apoc and Rug were to join us as 3 epic locals as well as 2 guys from the Guildford Games Club. Its here I publicly shame Matt (Rug) for being a numpty and double booking his day so he shall garner no further mention as he didn't show up....
In such promised company, it seemed a shame not to get them to fling some paint.
Its a hell of a long time since I've tried any real detail in 6mm - not since I cut my eye open a couple of years ago in fact.
Thus a challenge was born.1 Hour (or there abouts). 1 epic Terminator. I then threw emails around a couple of others who I thought might be interested - a mix of the TacComs old guard and competition painters from other scales, not thinking I'd get much response. The deal was I sent out a pre-primed and based terminator and once painted, they send it back to me so we could photograph them together and directly compare them all.
The aim being to be able to directly compare,
purely for interest and not for prizes, different peoples approach to the challenge.
With no prizes and having to send it back to me I didn't think people would be interested.
I was wrong! I was humbled by the responses from guys here and when Word of the challenge got to my friends at GW HQ, and out among the Golden Demon regulars too, it grew. Many who thought it sounded like a fun way to settle scores without spending hundreds of hours in the process! Long story short, over the past few weeks, I've sent out 52 terminators to be painted all over the world
Now, of course, some may not return, But I shall post in this thread my pics, both group and detail, of those that do.
Any comparison pics people would like to see, just ask and I shall provide them too
The first few from the day and others are in, so the camera is starting up
I have been surprised by the uptake in this, but if others are interested in getting involved, I shall be issuing more invites to termination as soon as I find more models, but you'll have to catch my eye with something cool on these forums first
