Very nice army shots (both painted and upcoming projects). I would say that your IG army is about the size I want to take mine to, too. Very coherent and nicely painted force. After starting up three horde-sized armies (Tyranids, guards and LatD), I must say that I like the size of your Marines force. It almost makes me start one (and fail completely) right away.

Great looking flyers. Imposing looking army shot and, as fredmans has said, those all look like very sensible/practical sized forces.

thanks gents!

the guard were painted in fits and starts, I'd do nothing for weeks at a time, then spend every free moment painting to get ready for a tournament!

I'm planning on not doing that with my next projects, nice and steady will be the name of the game!

The marines will make a nice change from endless guard stands, although I'm planning both orks and krieg so I can't escape for long! the ork force is way too small, I need more bikes/buggies and boyz, but cash flow is a bit of a problem at the moment!

All that said, I'm really quite happy with how the guard have turned out, they're the first army for any game system that I've actually finished painting, after the big xmas game last week and watching some guys playing 40k apocalypse with loads of half assembled, unpainted stuff, (described by Steve54 as a 'riot in a car park') I had it cemented in my brain that two fully painted armies is the only way I want to play any game in future! (within reason obviously!)

Kyuss, you make it sound like Steve has experience of these car park riots!

I wonder if he'll mention this pastime in the 'life outside wargaming' thread....

:o

Those IG infantry are superb. You've done a great job painting them. Can I ask where you got them from? The Green Eyed Monster has appeared on my shoulder and made me ask.

many thanks! progress on these guys is currently at a standstill due to family illness and other commitments, I'm going to have a crack at some this weekend to evaluate my chances of getting 3k ready for Into the Breech on the 21st.....

I'll probably end up painting on my lunchbreaks at work if that's the case!!
