Ah right, you mean to have the pipes running into the tanks (bottles)?

Possibly - whatever's easy. It could even be a pile of pipes on the floor 'waiting for construction'

(getting different packaging materials to stick to each other can be a diffiuclt thing in my experience. There were a few times I gave up and welded it with a soldering iron or used full size screws to bolt it all up!)

Thanks to MadDoctor for the great tips.
I used some drinking straws for the additional pipework and attached them to the rig/sprue pieces using a little of that famous £1 filler. As the good doctor suggested, I then used the ziptie for ladders, fantastic suggestion!
I still need to do a little more remedial paintwork... By the way, this still kept me well within the 1 hour limit for this terrain piece (for newbies, the challenge is to build something within an hour, not paint it as well).

Quick question MadDoctor, you said you use pen pipes. I was just wondering if you have any tips as to how you cut them to size without shattering them?

Dremel and cutting disk.

proper hacksaws are good too, none of this fiddling around with petite razor saws.

If you are careful with a triangular profile file, you could probably score deeply enough around the pen to snap it neatly, but by that point I'm normally bored enough to resort to the heavy tools.

Sadly I don't have any power tools but I'll give it a go with a stanley knife. Even more depressingly, I'm going to have to cut about 5 of the buggers for my next piece - watch this space!

I think you're going to shatter them with a stanley knife. Not got access to anything with teeth?

Not a thing. I don't do D.I.Y. I'd probably kill someone if I tried!

I tell a lie. I have a hacksaw, but reckon that might a little on the large side for this job! :D

As long as you have the pen held securely...
just holding under the palm of your hand on the edge of a table is probably a recipe for a new and interesting scar.

Job done! 5 nice wee sections of pen pipe cut from 1 pen - and no visit to A&E!

Bad news is that the muscles in my hands and fingers are cramping like a person born of persons not married to each other.

Good thread.
I happen to like poncy chefs and poncy food but still liked the thread.

Glad you like it AB, I like the look of the food but the poncy chefs wind me up something rotten! Just wrote it in that style for a bit of fun though!
