The Basiliks open again, hammering the Mantragan whilst it was distracted with the infantry. The infantry are destroyed in the blast, with the crew's reluctance to follow the friendly fire orders overcome by the presence of the commissar in the nearby command squad. The heavy bolters spray shells into the smoke and dust, with the fire altogether resulting in damage to the ammo feed of the twin-linked autocannon in addition to stabiliser damage. The consequence being that the pilot loses control of the walker. The malfunction soon proves to be less of a concern following the subsequent destruction of the machine after a second barrage.

The lieutenant, hopeless in the face of the armor following the loss of the AT hubris, charges into the survivors of the infantry melee. He easily overcomes the low level troopers, shattering the resistance with his power mace. His triumph seems premature once he sees the command squad only meters away. His last stand is worthy of his rank, felling the two kasarkin bodyguards in the struggle. As he battled the colonel, with the distractions of the psyker apprentice, the commissar walked up to the Andrayada leader, pointed his bolt pistol to his head, and pulled the trigger.

The earthshakers once again fire, this time at the Vanguard squad. The shots both miss, but strike the building adjacent to them, destroying both it and two of the three elites. The survivor wisely chooses to flee, over the cheers of the battlecannon crews.

Following the destruction of the Vanguard, a surviving phalanx squad flanks the basilisks. Remaining in position, and diverting power from their suits to their weapons, they release a higher energy beam on the side of the mobile artillery piece, with a similar effect to a melta gun. The microwaves evaporate the lubricant and melt the suspension, flipping the moving vehicle onto it's side - effectively destroying it.

Andrayada/Eldar - 107
Imperial Guard - 103
Close call. It looked like the battle would be really one sided - until the Andrayada walkers went down and the basilisks acted more like tanks than artillery. I don't think the board was large enough (100x75cm, with 1cm = 1inch in 28mm scale) for sustained indirect fire. All in all - an eventful game
