I think you guys just had it too good for too long. We've been getting ripped off for ages here in Australia.... Welcome to the real world. :D :D

I have to agree with everything said. As much as the increase is bemusing, I would happily pay the shipping for quality 6mm minis, especially considering the second hand prices on ebay for some stuff.

Obviously it isn't just the guys on this forum that it affects, independent model making has exploded over the last couple of years (just look at all the articles on TabletopGamingNews or from all the Kickstarters). There are so many talented guys out there making beautiful looking models outside of the big companies, and this increase is going to curtail some of their business opportunities which is a shame.

Matt

I agree that this increase is insane, but there are alternatives. As stated by a couple of you, larger or bulk orders are the way to go - a small Flat Rate box has gone from $17 to $23 (40% increase.) While this is a high increase, it isn't too unmanageable - it's $6 or about £4. I think most things purchased will fit into a smaller box (Medium Flat Rate is where the real craziness kicks in - $60!)

Also, for you in the US shipping out to, well, anywhere, you can either use Stamps.com ($15 per month, can be a pain to use sometimes) or Paypal's Ship Now page (https://www.paypal.com/shipnow). Note that you'll have to sign into Paypal first, then follow that link, otherwise you can't get to it easily. The best thing is that it's free!

The great thing about Ship Now is that you can 1) Print your label; 2) Buy your label using Paypal; 3) Fill out customs info on that label; 4) Bypass the line at the post office and not have to deal with postal employees.

I use it all the time, and it saves a ton of time.

That being said, this BS price increase is going to hurt, and Congress needs to pull that funding stick out of its collective ass, but that is a different conversation altogether. >:(

Ppfffff. Postal costs... Leave it to the government to screw absolutely everything up. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!

Shipping out hundreds of envelopes filled with the Raiders and Siege supplements sucked, and I am dreading to discover the cost it will be to ship them out when the next book is finally done. It may be more than the book itself.

Germany takes the prize for the most costly Postal Service, having destroyed two huge shipments and paying out nothing even after the insurance was paid for.

UK takes first place for the longest, most ridiculous addresses.

Australia has the highest overall postal rates.

Italy has the most 'lost' shipments.

Gents,

Happy to pay additional costs for postage, as Dobbsy said we have been ripped off here for years.

Cheers
Aaron

The gov't is in such debt, they'll try anything ... They are talking about taxing all internet purchases from all companies that sell online. :o Now it's just if you are in the same state ... :'(

Or if you are in SC, they ask if you bought anything online and try to charge you a use tax for it.

They do that in most states - you're supposed to answer truthfully. ;)

Amazon just worked out a deal to charge tax for Connecticut. I am a sad panda. :(

As with others I don't mind paying higher postage costs and I'd rather pay more than have you be out of pocket of thinking again about sending things.

I would happily pay more in postage for quality minis, if it allows the seller to survive for us to buy more at a later time ;D

And here in Texas, as well. Sigh, I guess it was just time for it to happen.

Wait- let me guess... They will also be opening a new facility that will offer x-thousand jobs to the state, right?
