What I own:
6 Knights (in good shape, just unassembled)
2 Warhounds (pretty beat up, need to re-assemble, re-base, and strip off an old/bad paint job)
2 Reavers (both unassembled, on is missing it's carapace (so need to sculpt that)).
2 Warlords (only 1 of the Warlords is assembled currently, the other looks like it was stomped on and needs to have an old/bad paint job stripped).
4 Thunderbolts (unassembled).

What I'd need to acquire:
8 Sentinels
Perhaps an Imperator and a Demi-Century of Skitari.

I have no idea how many points it's all worth, but along with the 6400 points worth of Imperial Guard I just finished for ToEG 2012, I reckon I should be able to field 10,000 points of Steele Legions after completion (add 2 Orbital Strikes to the Guard to get 6700 points, and 3300 points worth of allied Titans and Thunderbolts).

First picture! Yay!

This is what I currently own, and what "state" it is in. I'll be spending (at least) the first month just getting everything stripped & assembled. I may have also bought an Imperator on e-bay. It looked to be in pretty good shape ... but we'll see when it gets here.


Bigger Picture

The 40K Squat pictured, is the piece I got in place of the carapace for one of the Reavers. Until I bought the re-release of Space Hulk, it was the only 40K miniature I owned. (I used to joke that I had the start of a Squat army, when people asked if I played 40K :-) )

Of course! I thought I'd lost him ... but it turns out he was hiding amongst the Reavers.

Not a whole lot of progress for January, real life is proving to be meddlesome.

Progress:
Assembled 12 knights (6 were already mostly assembled)
Stripped and rebased 2 Warhounds
Stripped and repaired one Warlord
Started repairs on the Imperator
Assembled 2 Thunderbolts and began working on the 4 bases for Thunderbolts.

I've decided to go with round bases for everything (with the Imperator being on an oval base), we'll see if the 25mm ones are stable enough for the thunderbolts. I think they will be with metal washers weighing them down. But if they aren't, I have some 30mm bases I can transfer them to.

Still thinking about color schemes, I'm leaning toward Yellow, Red, and Black.

Before I can start painting, I still need to do:
Buy some Sentinels.
Figure out what I'm going to do for Skitari (I'd like to have some for the Imperator's Leg Bastions)
Finish fixing the Imperator (one of it's towers is missing it's top, and it's missing two of the little towers on the back).
Sculpt a carapace for the other Reaver.
Assemble both Reavers.
Finish basing everything & undercoat everything...

I think I have about a dozen of the Mk1 Sentinels lying spare somewhere, if you'd be interested? The ones with the open cockpit and egg-shaped body.

Eek! it's already the 2nd week in March. February wasn't very productive, real life keeps getting in the way. I'm slowly but surely getting to the point where I can start painting.

Things done in February:
* Finally got and assembled 16 Sentinels!
* Ordered 50 Dark Realm Industiral Infantry to use as Skitarii.
* Fixed the damage done on the Imperator Titan. Re-sculpted the left tower with greenstuff, and used plasticard and green stuff to build two of the rear corner towers/turrets. The end result wasn't perfect, but acceptable.
* Started work on building the Reaver's Carapace. Using a combination of platicard, plastic tubing, and greenstuff. So far it's not perfect, but acceptable.

I'll try to get pictures of the conversions/repairs up in the next few days.

I'm still in this, but progress has been slow. Real life has been a bit insane.

Mostly I've been just getting everything based and built. I also fixed the damage
to the Imperator and finished building the Carapace section for the Reaver.
I'm still waiting for Skitari from my FLGS.

The Imperator, was missing left hand side turrets, so I clipped the back right one and moved it to the forward
left side. Then created two side turrets from plastic tubing and attached them to the back.


This is where I've spent most of my time. Here is a shot of the plastic carapace (and the metal one I used as a guide) for the Reaver titan. It's a bit "green" because I used liquid green stuff to try to fill in any gaps between the platicard.


And finally the whole army (everything assembled except the Reavers and the absent Skitari).


So the forum software is complaining "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image." and not letting me embed images. So you'll have to click on the links to see the images. The images are at most 512 by 512, so it should be fine with it. If anyone knows how to fix this, let me know and I'll come back and edit the post.

Fixed the image tags (photobucket gave me some bad urls...), sorry about that.

even better - I'm only getting an image for the carapace, the other two are missing?
