Hi

In spring time i got time for painting my IG army, but in the meantime i can still collect :)

There is really no difference in the price between Forgeworld and GW Valkyries. But does the size differ?
I know i didnt liked the FW Thunderbolts as i found them to big, is that the same with the Valkyries?

I would really like if someone could provide me with a comparison picture for reference. Best also with some troops.

Hope some can help.

Thx in advance.

The GW ones are tiny, they could maybe carry 5 troops, but not 10.

My opinion is that the FW are more beautyful, but for a global scenery view, they are too large.
They are aprox huge as a warlord titan, and out of scale with all the rest I think.
I prefere the GW, I've 8 of them (fw), never used.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=24324 Not exactly what you are looking for, but the vulture should give an indication of relative sizes. Seems like a bad idea to try to combine GW and FW fliers. I prefer GW for the same reasons as above. Nothing is true scale from the beginning anyway so scale is not really what makes me interested in Epic.

I knew I posted pics before ! ;D I use both FW and GW Aircraft models. I just sometimes stat them differently like Evil and Chaos mentioned ... And I don't use them in the same unit(s) ...

I think it'd make sense to use FW Thunderhawks, since they're meant to be big and you're likely to have just one or two. Fighters though... I think the small GW versions fit better. When they're in scale like the FW versions, they're too big and imposing. It makes you feel like you should be playing on a table twice the size.

Valkyries are kind of in between fighters and Thunderhawks. They're transports, so bigger is better (especially while low to the ground or landed), but you might have four to a detachment, which means true-scale Valkyries take up a ridiculous amount of room. It's a bit awkward either way. Expensive, too - I can see why so many people turn to Exodus Wars instead (note: those are also small, but they look fine in groups).
