Thanks guys, the support is amazing and appreciated.
So, on to another update. As the two bike detachments were nowhere near enough to get me even close to that 2500 points target. I have added a Land Speeder formation.

A Devastator Detachment

and because I forgot you can't have Drop Pods without something to launch them from, a Strike Cruiser .... and more Drop Pods of course. Landing ... Drop Pods. And yes, I know they look more like they are taking off as opposed to braking for impact.

Image

As that beats my next stretch target, the next dip into the goody bag is to add Heresy Era Jetbikes and Speeders which I am including as a 'stand in' for another Bike Detachment.

More details on the blog as usual, along with what the next stretch target is and what the plan is regarding an end of year look back and group photo.

Until next time, have fun.

Can we have some more detail on how you achieved the smoke effect on the drop pods as I am thinking of doing something similar with mine.
Cheers

Fantastic work, I think the up-impression only applies to the leftmost drop pod, the effect of the flames hitting the ground and spreading on the other two really creates a landing-effect. Great painting and modelling.

This thread is really inspiring, lovely work on these.

Just how much old school epic models have you got hidden away Carl? Wish i had some more of the older models stashed for my future heresy era project.

Very cool Carl, it's great to watch this project going, I am growing the force for Ultras and getting plenty of inspiration from your work. Will there be one more update before Christmas?

Cheers
Aaron
