In the middle of the 3 from the left or the three from the right?

Good to know !! Thanks E and C !! I'll keep that in mind ! I'd imagine it wouldn't cost as much as a 10 cm figure from Japan ! ;D Here, you could do my whole Recon Team ! To make a complete 5 man stand ! :D Image ;)

Ah bless, Americans never did quite work out how to shape a beret! Loos like a bunch of helicopter landing pads. When I was in the Royal marines reserve, the corporals would be forever beasting those with shit berets.

Oh! I think I see him now. In that building peeking out from the curtains of the window at the back in the middle of the two guys on the right after the guy on the far right....

What a handsome looking fellow.

Ha! No I didn't spend the best part of a year learning how to shape a beret. But just like with any group of blokes, they'll take the piss out of anything given the opportunity. And don't forget, the beret is part of the uniform, so as with everything military, it has to be correct. It has particular importance with the RM as it's your green lid (green beret) that lets everyone know you're an ape-shit killing machine. Crap looking berets were just one of those things that recruits got mocked for as without fail, you'd end up looking like one of the cast from Dad's Army. :)

The boss made me shave mine many years ago. Mind you grey isnt a great colour for a mo.

Yes, I had my "mo" much of the 10+ years on active duty ... now got a full "silver" beard ... ;D As far as the berets ... we liked them, back in those days only certain units wore berets ... now everyone has them ! We took time to get them "right" ... but as you can see ... not up to Brit standards ! ;D In the field on ops we usually wore patrol caps, like Butch our RTO in the pic, or flop hats ... and of course helmets. We had the old WWII steel pots ... didn't get issued Kevlar helmets for another few years ... 8)

Similarly my wee brother in para reg refers to everyone not in a para beret as a "crap-hat", it's all banter between separate forces I imagine, my bro is certainly proud of his.

L4 is that a German weapon you're holding?

I'll trade a beret for a Kevlar helmet any day. A beret says, "I want to kill somebody in a special way". A kevlar says, "I want to unleash some indiscriminate violence." :)

Left 15 degrees, drop 50 meters, fire for effect.

I go to war, I'm demanding some sodding Powered Armour with reactive impact layers and IR-emission stealth. :-p
