Beastmen try to steal an objective but are outfoxed by a detachment of Guardians (who have sneakily been hidden behind those can-like buildings until now). The Exarchs slay more beastmen, but come a cropper as the Heavy troops unleash hell upon the elite Eldar troops. "See you in hell bird-boys" is the less-than-mature cry from a thirty-something IG player.

Not much left here... A Baneblade takes one objective in the rubble, while the commissar steals the one on the bridge.

And more Rough Riders attack the Tempests, finally breaking them for 9 points of victory goodness for the Imperial Guard!

Post-game analysis:

In terms of casualties, both sides suffered severe losses and in that respect, the battle was tight. However, the capturing several objectives on the final turn meant that the IG overwhelmingly defeated the Eldar.
With only one point seperating the forces at the end of turn 2, the Eldar suddenly found themselves at the end of a scoreline which hugely flatered the Imperial Guard player...
Always keep a close eye on your objectives and protect them well!

Apologies for not having kept a note of the Victory Points from turn to turn...

By the way, I've since painted my Eldar Titans...

Thanks for taking the time to post a battle report. Its nice to see games still getting played in this system and I certainly think seeing other people's batreps can be good inspiration to find the time to game again, especially if its been a while since your own epic figures graced a board.

Please continue.

Thanks for the encouraging words Ortron! I thought it might have been a case of me talking to myself (particularly as my armies look a bit guff due to my painting skills, or lack thereof)! If it's of interest to at least a few people I'll keep posting battle reports!

I'm hoping to at least get everything painted up over the coming months so that future battle reports feature only painted units. I'm also toying with the idea of doing a video battle report which might be a bit easier to follow.... no promises though!

Cool.

Thanks for posting. I for one was very pleased to see a battle rep on here again.

As for your models I think they look great. Very old school, same as your terrain. Pleased do keep posting.

Do you have some army shots of that Codex Grey Guard army ?

I would like to get some stuff posted one of these days soon. Just as soon as I can figure out how to do it... ;)

Thanks Ulrich, I'll do my best to report everything I play here!

Hey Dogtrooper, "old school" is a very accurate description of me! As a teenager I picked up the original Adeptus Titanicus and was hooked from there on in!

As it happens I'm actually in the process of painting my rough riders & orgyns tonight! I'll try & dig out the lot of my IG stuff and post a pic sometime over the next few days if that's ok?

Thanks for the interest!

Yup, me too. Hook, line and sinker. Though for me it was Space Marine. Second hand off a kid at the School bus stop though in good condition. My mum paid full price for it !

I did'nt get Adeptus Titanicus till much later off ebay.It so holds its price.

I'm painting a Reble Guard regiment using the old "Green box" of Imperial guard at its core at the mo, called Drogans Raiders. Was painting Rhino's, and jump pack troops today. You've got to love that box set. It appears anyone bidding for it on ebay certainley does anyway !

Would love to see the troops, of course thats OK.

By the way. I loved the tuna cans, back in the day it was toilet rolls pushed up against buildings as factorys for me. Heh Heh.

Yep, it was the old green box of I.G. that I'm finally getting around to painting about 20 years later. Back in the day I couldn't give a damn about painting my armies - I just wanted to play epic all the time - but I'm a changed man now! I want to get the lot painted but I've got so much stuff it'll take an age.

My painting skills are truly horrific so when I put the pic up don't expect to see any work of art! Some of the pics I see on here are just terrific, wish I could paint half as well. I was a little reluctant to post my battle report because I knew my stuff looked a bit shitty, but I thought some of it might give people a laugh!

Glad you liked the tuna tins - another relic from years gone by! That game was actually the swansong for the tins, I binned them after I recently won a bid for a load more buildings off ebay. I'm still likely to use the other hand-built buildings though, all of which are made from old cigarette boxes! Here's the next Government health warning: Smoking clogs up your arteries and your cupboard space when the hubby recycles them for scenery.

Hats off for the thinking behind the reusing of the toilet rolls! Glad to see I wasn't the only one stopping my mum from binning rubbish!

I'll try and get a pic of my Imperial Guard on Saturday afternoon when there's a decent bit of light (I'm working during all daylight hours just now). I know I won't have the army finished by then so expect to some unpainted stuff in amongst the ranks. IG isy one of the smaller armies I have, I intend to pick up some artillery off of ebay soon!

Hi Bissler.

Cool. Don't worry, the quality of painting can often be amazing here but this forum has never felt very elitist. You might get some good tips.

I can not speak for everyone here, but I think most people get the happy from looking at unpainted sprues ! Generally, if someone’s pleased to share, people are pleased to view. And everyone likes a classic bit of old school. Consider putting your pics on the 6mm painting and modelling section.

Ahh homemade scenery. Books under blankets !

"Books under blankets" That was something I'd forgotten about! I remember using an old green sheet and using VHS videos & audio tapes as well as books for hills!

Thanks for mentioning that - made smile a lot! And some time tomorrow I'll stick my horrid Imperial Guard under that section you suggested!

Cheers!
