I wanted to give the Chaos Titans something different. Soemthing to set them more apart from the standart configuration Imperial counterparts.
And as i see Chaos Titans somwhat more agressive than the Imperial ones they got Titan Close Combat Weapons.

Yep, I agree with the design intent, and I think you did a formaidable job with the list. I was just woindering if it was conceivable after such a long time that people were asked how many times they actually used the Titan options (especially the Warlord), and perhaps, if the answer was not positive, we could consider a FF Titan Combat weapon?

Having been working on suitable conversions for use with this list, I'd quite like to keep the titan CCWs...

From a strategic standpoint, the poweful CC atacks tend to make themselves useful by pure threat. It's probably your BTS so anything that wards off units like terminators is good in my book, if anything is stupid enough to try then all the better.

I'm just a sad panda that modelling parts of the army has become a bit of a headache.

I would like to see pictures of your Red Corsairs :)

And yes a Warlord Titan with a CC-weapon is a serious thread for any CC-troops whishing to destroy the BTS (what the Warlord Titan will be most of the time).

Check towards the end of my main log BL, it's a bit or a mish mash atm, but as I'm sure you've read enough Black Library stuff to know their armies are rarely made up purely of red/black corsair marines. There will be some corsairs though!

How viable is a force that focuses on Thunderhawks transportings warbands/Berserkers, Terminators, Harbinger and Hell Talons/Blades?

I'm teetering either way on going for a traditional style force, with a mix of infantry/rhino's, some air, some terminators and maybe a Reaver/Warhound or two.
Or go with an extreme, ie airborne list or even a horde style list.

Thoughts?

I'd build an army that can play all styles of lists but that's just me :)

Yeah - i just wanted to something extreme.
My IG collection can do a bit of everything (some aspects better than others). I just feel the need, the need for...
8)
Wait. I feel the need to do something completely different. This probably wouldn't be a 'competitive' list but a list to 'switch up' the play style I normally perform. A little spice in my NetEA cook book!
:)

Well an all air assault/teleporting Red Corsair list is completely different to your Guard lists... :D

New CSM codex came out. Will this list be updated accordingly?

I thought about this. But in the end i would rather do a new list than update this list.
The Red Corsairs list in the current version is very well tournament ready it seems as no one has complained about anything unbalancing in the last months.
Including 3-4 new units, removing some others and perhabs altering the list structure would greatly unhinge this list and push it back fromn Developemental to Experimental. And this i want to avoid.

Quote:
The 2013 Tournament Pack has come out, but no new lists have been approved since last year which is disappointing. In the Tournament Pack thread Dave mentions the criteria to be considered for approval is that 3 different groups across the world playtesting the list at least 6 times against existing approved lists.

So i need at least 2 additional groups from across the world who playtest at least 6 times the Red Corsairs against existing approved lists.

Who want's to volunteer?

Good to see you working on this :)

Al in Perth has a Red Corsairs army and I posted up a battle report of a game I played against him just recently (not sure if you saw or not?) - viewtopic.php?f=84&t=25636&hilit=corsairs+perth

I'm not sure if Al has done any previous battle reports, but Matt Shadowlord and Onyx are in this play group so there might be some floating around.

Yea my Epic community here is growing. I have now two players (Ultramariens and Orks) and perhabs a third one (Chaos). All are quite newbees but to use a translated german proverb "No master has been fallen from heaven yet" :)

Goodo, nice to have opponents.

Could revise the list pdf to have the correct points and stats as per the current BL list? Will you be bringing over the other trial Black Legion changes to the list? e.g. Chaos Champion sacrifice to get a greater demon.

Will you consider removing undivided demons from the list and replacing them with the full variety from the 4 chaos gods? Generic demons don't exist in current 40k and Chaos Space Marines often fight with daemons, just through the mechanism of allies from the Daemon codex in 40k rather than them being in the CSM codex itself. Only having generic demons put me off using the RC list myself, but I'd like to use it if it allowed the full range of demons.

Perhaps consider having the Stalker in the list as well as or instead of the Obliterator?
