Yes, don't slack on the hybrid breeding program. More quotes a little less CAD.

The Hybrids are being printed right now - I'll post pics once I get the sprues. The other Legion creatures are at the casters right now - I am awaiting test casts so that I can select a resin type for production.

I'll keep you all posted!

My suggestions based on the last picture of the vehicle: More rivets, add detail to "banding" areas, improve tracks quality, more rivets.

Yes! That's more like it, now the control owner look more battle worthy. +1 on main gun being too big still. Viewing the contraption directly from the front I cannot help but wonder about the track width. Considering the hugeness of the thing, with such narrow tracks it would sink through most soil in notime.

*"control owner"? Damn you, autocorrect!

I was thinking about that too - I'm going to put some work into the tracks today, and the gun has been reduced in size by another 10%.

Sounds good. I suppose that wider tracks could mean the lessening of the front ramp width. I think that is OK, though.

Alrighty folks - this model is more or less done at this point. I'd like to thank everyone for their feedback - I think it really helped this model along, and I'm very happy with the results. With the modified tracks - it now fits on a 80x70mm base.

Here's a parts break down - there's 21 parts in all:

I'd like to address some people directly now:

Evil and Chaos - Awesome suggestions, unfortunately, I was well into parting it out before I could add those additional details that I agree would look great. I will apply your suggestions on the next model. I also couldn't figure out a way to add details to the tracks while allowing it to be mass produced in resin casts (not without adding about 4 more tiny pieces). Again, I will focus on this aspect on the next model. Thanks for the constructive feedback as a fellow model creator.

Nitpick - Thanks for you observation on the tracks. There was something wrong with the front view but I couldn't pin it. Widening the tracks fixes this profile imo, and makes it look even more intimidating! This increased the base size, but I'm ok with that.

Again, thanks everyone for your comments - especially the size of the main cannon, which was reduced in size about 25% from the original design - looks much better now.

Now I've got to submit the model for printing "glup". A single sprue of hybrids costs about 9 bucks to print - anyone want to take bets on the printing costs for this beast?

I don't really understand this.

My attached photo for example is designed to cast in plastic (the least detailed casting method possible) yet the tracks are more detailed.

And added detail to the banding areas is as simple as booleaning any other objects together - being broken up for casting shouldn't affect that.

Fair enough if your aesthetic is more simple in style, but I don't really understand... if it's a matter of being afraid of undercuts, I wouldn't worry, your model would cast happily in metal let alone with the more tolerant undercut limits of resin.

Is there a reason you've broken it into so many parts? For instance, the command center on the top looks like it could easily be one piece. The same with the middle level, the upper platform and the front and back plates.

Just curious, as the more parts you have, the bigger the pain for moldmaking, casting, and inventory. From my experience, fewer parts is the way to go...

That being said, cool model!

Looks great. I have to concur with Berzerkmonkey; fewer parts is better.

Looks good. I rather like the modular approach.

I don't particularly need a Leviathan, but I'm seeing many other potential projects:

- There's the carriage for a kitbash Ordinatus Majoris
- There's curtain walls for a fortress
- There's a command bunker

I'd be interested in hearing about pricing, when you get to that point :)

Evil and Chaos - Thanks for that example man! I was really over thinking it. I went ahead and added a small ridge on each track segment. :)

berzerkmonkey - I don't like a bunch of parts either - due to the detail on all four sides though, casting would be a real issue if I didn't break it up.

On the plus side, I'll be able to use all these bits on future kits.

Here's the official preview pic:

BTW - I got the price for printing this big guy - $300.00! So I'm curious - what do you good people, the target audience, think a reasonable price would be for a model of this size and complexity?

If the math works out, and it looks like I can at least break even on this - I'll also have to pay for casting - then It'll go into production. Otherwise, it may have to sit on the shelf for a while...
