Terms sound well enough, but you'll end up with the same crew though, given the level of enthusiasm people have now. I doubt there are players out there saying, "Hmmm, I ignored the last five AC openings because I've been waiting for the [insert idle AC position here] to open up." Not happening.

Anyone want a Squat AC position? Anyone? Anyone? :P

I'd do it, though I would prefer you'd remain on the job. I was thinking of trying myself on Demiurgs instead, come the winter.

The alternative seems to be more of the same - rot and creeping irrelevance.

There are some big name lists with ac's who've gone idle - eldar and orks for starters - put them up for election and let the incumbents stand if they want to. I dares ya.

If we don't start seeing new development on those lists after an election then I'll agree there's no point running elections on any of the other idle positions.

Fixed terms - you will end up with the last quarter (at least) of each term with anybody who doesn't agree with an AC lobbying against them. Then you will waste even more development time running these elections, and CSs time monitoring the voting.

A concrete policy to deal with absent/inept/inactive ACs or ERC members would have been in place for months by now if it hadn't been deliberately derailed by an AC at development stage to such an extent that all momentum was lost.

Lobbying every so often interspersed with real development is much better than nothing at all getting done in a nice peaceful manner for years on end.

+ the loss of players turned off by a fractious environment or with everything they do as an AC being undermined by somebody who wants to supplant them

What is your proposal for replacing the idle AC's, that has been derailed?

You were an AC at the time I believe - you can ask your brother his motives for derailing te whole thing

Can't remember what it was you proposed at the time - and since Barny resigned months ago I don't see him standing in the way of getting some very key idle ac's replaced.

E&C,
Dave is looking over some final revisions to the document which will be sent to the Army Champs for their review. If they like it we'll roll it out to the population; otherwise there is no sense in muddying the waters. Generally speaking though it relates to minimum activity required from Army Champs and ERC members; goals; list approval guidelines; how to replace people in the event of a resignation, removal, or no-show absence. Some of the feedback you gave from way back when was rolled into the document.

We started up on this again about 2 months ago but had the process lag because of schedules and other commitments.

Nice to hear it - I would like to have my faith in the ERC process restored.

i think all the process needs is more people. Specifically more students (they have the time).

I have two lists. I still need to find a group to playtest with, build a few thousand points of models and get some games down. I work 45hours a week and am about to start a part time master's degree. I also have a wife to keep happy.

Most of us are in similar situations. There's only so much that can get done in a time period.
