I prefer it, no sand falling off the bases in the figure case...... It's by no means perfect but I discovered it can be applied by a brush (as shown on the sniper stands) to get more control in application. It can also be used to fill holes which would require mixing up a paste if you were using sand+pva

It doesnt go very far, one pot will do around 20 warmaster bases and 12 infantry, I'm nearly through my second pot of the stuff, when I get the army done and take an army shot, I'll put in how many pots it took for a decent sized Steel legion force which is completely based

Nice objective markers, always enjoy seeing the diorama basing people have been doing as of late.

For a better deal on textured paint check out the texture gel line from traditional art supplier Liquitex, huge 237ml containers, different textures (some better for 28mm, some good for Epic), and you can put in your own color paint to tint them whatever color you want.

Unfortunately not, I'm moving house in august so epic will be off the radar for a few weeks around the move while we get packed and unpacked...... I thought you'd managed to sell all your tickets now anyway?

Whoops! That's just me being forgetful! I just recalled you being involved in the disussion to begin with and forgot to check if you had actually signed up in the end!

Nice looking Cadians BTW ;)

Thanks, I realised after most of it was done that each of my armies will have a strong colour theme,so my steel legion are blue-grey, imperial fists will be yellow, tau are going to be a red-orange, biel-tan will be green..... Only problem is that now I want discrete ulthwe, iyanden, blood angels and kreig forces too now..... I'll never be a rich man....

I really like how the titan colour scheme makes them stand out, and the cool bases for the Tbolts.

The army is looking really good!

Ha, I have the same problem! I have so many armies to paint it's unreal. It sometimes makes me feel a bit ill when I think how much I've avtually got to work through. My display cabinet is full now too (with mostly unpainted projects which i intend to start). I've just acquired a heap of Tau and DKOK stuff just to make things worse.

BTW, Kyuss, i'm really liking the blue/grey scheme you have going on with those steel legion. I think that colour pallette would work a charm on my DKOK stuff. Would you mind posting what colours you used?

no problem, I sprayed everything with army painter black undercoat, then misted a coat of army painter wolf grey, the whole model was then washed in badab black, and drybrushed fortress grey. The mud was simply graveyard earth, liberally drybrushed wherever I thought mud would splatter, I have a special drybrush for this, it's an old GW drybrush with the point snipped off (it went into some wet superglue) so it's splayed out, really good for stuff like mud spray

I'm starting my ground pounding imperial fist army after I move house early next week!

Thanks. I'm not familiar with TAP products but I've just looked at their website. I ilke that their sprays match their equivalent paints in pots - that could prove very handy for painting vehicles with sprays, and infantry with the paint. I think i'll buy some and do some experimenting...

The colour sprays that I've used have been great.(wolf grey, daemon yellow, fur brown) the black primer is too glossy for my tastes, and it can be harder to get paint layers to stick..... Not the case with the colour primers at all though!
