Just been reminded of this project by Brumbaer's great Praetorians.

I picked up some Distopian Wars Britiania Cromwell II medium tanks with the intention of adding some turrets for use as Ragnarok/Russ proxies (going for a WW1 theme.) I know someone has tried this before and it looked good (sorry forgot who) but i think that was with hard to find ork turrets. Unfortunately turrets i have don't really fit (i keep getting stuffed by scale ordering online - oh for FLGS ! )

Anyone tried with Exodus Wars turrets - i was thinking Achilles or Apollo ?

Anyone got pics? Preferably with turret on the Cromwell, but side by side would be almost as good.

Anyone got some alternative suggestions ? (not Netepic presumably ;-)

It was me, I think.

not exodus wars turrets, but I am planning to use these epic turrets for my ork tanks.

This is from the great gargant shoulder weapon if I remember well...

I will take some pictures with the Dystopian turrets added from other models and from the bunker complex.

Yep, that's the one - i guess the gargant turrets aren't easy to come by !? :-)

Looks like i'm needing even more turrets now ! - Ebayed some Leman Russ, but 3 of the 6 have missing turrets (i don't blame the seller - blister was from the 90s and had never been opened. I'd expected them to be behind the foam myself until i opened it.) Anyone tried Exodus Achilles on GW E40k Russ ? Pics ?

That said, the Russ turrets look good on the distopian wars stuff. Anyone got spare Russ turrets ? Is there a forum ware alternative ...? Anyone tried Instant Mold on turrets ?

Would GW mail order send replacements for blisters from the 90s ...!? :D :P ;) (gotta try)

I don't have any pictures but I can say that comparative to pics of EW tanks that I have seen next to GW figures it would appear to be a good fit (kinda comparison pic A to pic B to pic C- extrapolate A to C). Any funkiness could simply be written off as some obscure forgeworld pattern IMO. I don't know how my water any of my opinions have but what it is worth, I am planning on making ragnarok tanks from spartan Mk2 mdeium tanks and EW Apollo turrets. The only reason I haven't yet is that I have a butt load of formations to finish before I purchase anything new.

I tried all the turrets I could find.

Plastic ones are from the mega gargant.

The two metal ones are from the dystopian wars range. Bigger is from the japanese battleship, I think. Smaller one is from the fortress set.

The AA gun and the small cannon are from exodus wars, I think.

As it is nearly impossible to get 10-12 gargant guns (picture 3, front) I will try some press molding or will ask a friend to create something similar on shapeways. He did some nice fortresses for a boardgame.

Wow ! Thanks Leaxe, very helpful.

That ork gargant one really looks the part. If you do get something cast up i could be interested... I could do the CAD part no problem, but probably haven't got the time or patience to get the printing/casting done when there are so many alternatives more easily available. Let me know if you try press molding them - i was thinking about trying it on the russ, just not sure how the barrels would turn out...

As for the Exodus - Comparing these to the pic of the steel crown site, looks like the Apollo and Achilles could be a good match. Though those 3 barreled spartan turrets are interesting...

I did try it once via press molding:
