The guard so far. Terrible photos. Any suggestions for the vultures? Do they need more squadron markings?

This is my sandwich, which I'm more pleased with (it was our Sunday roast rib of beef).

I really like the color on the wings (and location was great - hope you don't mind that I knick that for my own when the time comes :)) If you wanted to distinguish then you could always add a squadron marking to the yellow area (say a decal) to distinguish the flights.

Sammich is good looking. Please pass one this way [nom nom nom nom]

I bought one pack from gw, but one had miscast and the cockpit was missing. When I reported it they sent a whole new pack of 4. I had a go at repairing the missing bit with white putty (which was horrible to work with). At a quick glance you don't always notice the new half a cockpit.

Oh jimmy, i was quite pleased with the colour on that panel, to be honest there aren't many to choose from! If you get some show me what they end up like..

Wow! I didn't even notice the fix! That should tell you something (either about your modeling / painting skills or your camera ;))

See, not the greatest, but it's a free pack of planes, so no complaints from me!

This is the guard army so far, 86% is only base coated (the painted bits are hard to spot as they too are essentially grey. I think I need more yellow.

From a game tactics point of view, what would you experienced guard players get next? After the drumming I took at the hands of the blood angels last week I need a change in tactics. My HQ platoon has always seemed almost invincible, it's steamrollered through tactical and assault company alike in previous games. This week we had the blood angel termie in land raider painted and ready so my opponent used them. I rolled up in front like I always do, got a few battle cannon shots from the attached russes and a hail of missiles from a vulture squadron. I expected to do massive damage like I normally do, weather any return fire and them fire fight them to death next turn. Instead the terminators took two blast markers, shrugged off the incoming fire moved closer to me and almost obliterated the hq in return! I was in shock!

I'd get some rough riders, great against land raiders and they'll give your BTS a bit of a buffer zone from the terminators.

I have 6 bases of rough riders (to the left of the shadow sword), buying was never quite sure what to do with them. They have always milled around, gone for stopping a hold the line or grabbing a blitz objective and generally got shot. I forget that fire fights and assaults work against tanks just as easily as infantry. I still have my 40k/ logical head that says don't charge cavalry at tanks. Good plan in epic though!

I started looting some raiders last week, then I got tonsillitis before I got to finish them. Any tips when I get back to them?

Hmmmmm, the pictures won't upload :-(

I've been having trouble with Photobucket as well ... after being in contact with Photobucket and MSN, in my case it has something to do with Windows XP interface with IE8 and 9, blah, blah, blah ... The updates creat a "Rube Goldberg Mousetrap" monster with "workaounds" working around more and more "workarounds" ... GeeZ !!!!!!! :nooo Creating a "patchwork" of updates, workarounds, etc., etc., etc. !!!! :gah < End Rant Mode > :whistle

I've been using the tap talk iPad/iPhone app. It (normally) allows you to upload 3 pictures per post to be hosted on their server. It's a darn sight easier, especially as I tend to take the photos on this phone!
