Wow, those are amazing. Want.

Guessing the shipping from Down Under will be a lot more than the cost of the models though :{[] ???

they are indeed gorgeous, however, and i must admit i have some bias here, but her products are quenched with the tears of abandoned TO's (or atleast one) and i understand they cry out in anguish and shame at night. based on my dealings with the person responsible, i cannot recommend strongly enough that you avoid doing business with her. with the exception of perhaps mr markfields, i do not know anyone who less deserves the money and support of the epic community.

the story, in short-form, goes something like this:

i ran a tournament in january, and back mid last year (when first they appeared) had initially arranged to buy a table worth of her terrain for the event, as well as gained from her sponsorship for the event and some pieces as prize support. after a few messages early on, she then proceeded to ignore my attempts at communication until under a fortnight out from the event, when i mentioned to another forum member (this time, however, in a more public space than my previous attempts to contact her) her lack of response. suddenly, after months of silence, she responded to me quite rudely accusatorily, and withdrew all support, leaving me a week and a half to fill an extra tabletop (on top of the other TO-ly duties that the final stretch involves)

so, she strung me along, screwed me over, and was most impolite in doing so. i consider that inexcusable behaviour for a business, even if the product is pretty. she's basically an anti-sponsor, and deserves to be treated as such.

they do, which is more the pity.

not directly, no, she never responded to my many attempts to get in contact with her and transfer funds. there were expenses that came about during the whole "now i have a little over a week to make another table worth of terrain" and i lost a buttload of sleep (for the week and a bit leading up to the tourney i was operating on about 3-4 hours sleep a night) had i more time, i'd have spent money replacing the prizes i was expecting, but 'luckily' i was too busy for that.

honestly, the problem wasnt so much the failing to come through with what she offered, but the fact that she didnt pull out civilly and with time to spare. if at basically any point in the 6+ months leading up to the events described, she had responded to my messages with a "sorry, i'm not going to be able to make that quantity" "it's going to cost more than we discussed" or "i just dont want to anymore" then i'd be upset but would have been easily able to recover or bring fallback plans into play. hell, even if her eventual response had been apologetic rather than confrontational, i'd not be here speaking ill of her. but it wasnt.

i suspect that she bit off more than she could chew, and rather than do the mature thing and sack up, she decided to ignore me. if she'd been upfront about not doing the expected tasks, things would be different, but the lack of communication, and then the immense lack of civility and respect in the final communication, however, is to me atleast a deathblow to her credibility, and i'd hope everyone else feels the same. as i said, i have a bias here, but you shouldnt be able to get away with treating your customers like that.

on a happier sidenote, the whole thing, along with a few other more positive events of late, has rather inspired me to similar effect, and i have begun making inquiries (fairly limited at this stage, but once i get a baseline working they should speed up) into the viability of expanding my own (fairly boutique) scenery making business to include laser cut and router built designs, particularly focusing on 6mm -15mm scale terrain. so far, it looks promising, but its probably not in the works for atleast a few more months. still, i hope to begin adding my own contributions to forumware in the future. (wasnt how i wanted to be announcing such a thing, but i dont want to be all negative here, and hey, i am excited by the prospect)

oh she seemed nice enough on WAU until she wasnt. i had several people tell me that she's normally a reasonable and helpful person, but that was far from my experience. and she was plenty active on the forums through the period of silence, she just ignored my messages (then blocked them outright) until i said something in public, then immediately played the wounded samaritan card. i can find her response if you're interested, i dont think she's deleted it from the forum.

Dunno much but last november the laser she has to cut broke down and I don't think it was fixed until the beginning of december. I'll post a message and see what's up, haven't heard much out of her since then.

made no mention of laser problems. and again, the mature response would have been to respond to one of my 10+ messages over those three months and tell me of her whatever troubles. but no word, and yet as soon as her reputation may be at stake she replies within 3 hours...

honestly, i'd rather not dredge it all up again, but its a little late for that

Can't go in if you're not a member (with a high enough post count, at that).

Hi Bec,

You thinking about producing another batch of these? I'm happy to come and pick them up at the club.

well, given she's not responded to any of my queries as to the status of my (sizable) order* since our communications in early november, i rather suspect that no, she isnt planning on producing more of these.

*(for a tourney which is now only two weeks away, and running low on scenery because of it, as you can imagine i am somewhat disappointed)

I'll mention it if I catch her tonight.

Pretty sure this is in R&D not mass production mode.

There is no amount of sales that will recoup a multi thousand dollar laser.

I would err on the side of patience with someone that generous with her time and energy.

A (sizable) order for which you haven't paid for and which, as I pointed out to you, consisted of buildings which haven't been designed yet, but were in the process of being drawn up.

I have in fact been busy cutting in 36 degree heat for 8-12 hours a day to try and do the many, many buildings that you wanted (and having been admitted to hospital twice since November), all of which amounts to me working for less than $5 an hour for you.

But seeing as though that is your attitude, you can be even more disappointed in me, as I will now not send you anything, and you can stick your order that you haven't paid for and find scenery, and the buildings I was going to give as prizes, for your tournament elsewhere.

i think you may have missinterpreted me, as is prone to happen in online communications when one or both parties is under stress. certainly i was not intending to upset you. would you perhaps be willing to discuss this via PMs or Emails? i feel that we can probably work this out.

i'm sorry to hear you've been in the hospital, are you ok? :/

Hi just found this section.

I hope you are ok health wise, did them Pringles come back to bite ya?

You said in our pm's that you have four variants of the Librarium/Cathedral and nine smaller office biuldings. Do you have any more pictures of these?

I'm off to 'Blighty' until the 15th Feb so will miss the first Pig but I will be at the next one. I still have your foam Epic buildings they are VERY safe and I will bring them along then.

Rest up and get well.

Alan

Well regardless of reason for delay, a simple reply describing inability to supply would have been beneficial for her business really. I guess telling you to stick it was a bit rude.
