It's time for another update. :) Actually this one is being pushed out a bit faster to get out the changes Moscovian and I worked out over the robot and rapier crossover units with squats.

Skitarii changes:
Robot rule removed and replaced with automaton rule
Robots return to 2+ activation
Rapiers changed to 30cm and get slightly better AP going to 5+
Secutors dropped to 75 points
Crusaders boosted to 25cm

The secutors keep getting sniped or hacked down or otherwise neutralized so I'm start with a point drop here. May get a deeper cut. Crusaders boosted slightly in speed to help fit their fluff of light and fast and perhaps give them a tad more utility outside of screening.
let the discussions begin :)

You do realise that rappers / rapier laser destroyers have official gw stats?

That is my fault - I was arguing that the Rapier stats needed to be as we decided upon because of the description provided from the existing fluff. Lasers are 45cm and Rapiers are shorter ranged.

Interesting; A significant boost. I'll be sure to keep the robots in the list for the next test game, then.

They have a statline in the IG list, too. Will that change also?

OK - I'll have to paint up a few more, then, see if they are dangerous in numbers...

I've PM'd Rug (IG Champ) and Steve54 (Human ERC) bringing their attention to the matter. I'd be happy to defer to them.

That looks more like AT3+, with no AP component (or at best AP6+). It is better than both Battlecannon and twin-linked Lascannon.

Siege list shows it as... Rapier Laser Destroyer 45cm AT4+/AP6+. I'm not sure how they reconciled the Laser Destroyer being 45cm and a shorter ranged weapon when it is the same exact range, but I'm hoping that we can hammer this out soon.

Siege list used the same stats as were in Swordwind.

You meant Mossinians and Baran Siegemasters I think. The krieg list has no rapiers.

Doh! Failing at doing two things at once here. Yes, I meant Baran Siegemasters. :-[

Is no one else concerned the Sagitarii formation is too good?

for 225 points, you get an infantry formation that can garrison, and can, on sustain, shoot 8 x AP4+ indirectly at something within 60cm (which will be a lot, being garrisoned). Ignoring cover, that's gonna average to 4 hits, disrupt meaning 5 blast markers anyway and anything without a good save is once again screwed because, again ignore cover.

To top that off, they've also somehow got FF 3+

I dunno if the mole mortar stats are fixed yet, but both ignore cover and disrupt are powerful abilities, and not something that should really be on a man portable mortar.

Do they really need 2 x mole mortar per stand? Does what is in affect an artillery unit need 3+ FF?

Primarily the Sagitarii were adjusted to see how 2x per stand would work since there was a little quibbling about the mole mortars not being worth it at one per stand. After that point, I haven't had a chance use them again while we are dealing with robots. Even with the stats on the weapons, the formation is only 5 stands which tends to make them easy targets for artillery or engagements. However, please give them a try and let us know how they fare. Data is our friend and the more we get the easier it is to tweak things. :)

The sagitarii are primarily a fire support unit which is why they have FF3+. Basically they are weaker marine devastator units.
