Hi there!

Lately I've been having the urge to start a Tyranid army (don't know what bug bit me!), and I've hit a dead end.

At first I was planning to buy the stuff from Evilbay, but you can't really get every thing from there (Like Raveners). With that, I decided to go for some converting for the vehicles and DRM Inf for the critters. I've been looking around for examples of converted stuff from 40k, and everywhere I look, there's is mention of "You can start with a Gaunt.." etc, but no pictures. The posts are either too old and the pictures aren't there any more or they lead to broken links.


The Intel I gathered from lurking around for a rough plan for conversions (I'd like to go for a modern Tyranid look since some of the stuff needs to be based on modern minis):

Hierodule and Hierophant and Dominatrix: Bodies from 40K Tyranid warriors, heads based on 40k Rippers. The conversions I did see seem a little off with big heads.
Tank critters: based on 40K Rippers, either with extra claws or weapons on the back
Harridan: based on 40K Harpy
Trygon: based on the body of a harpy with extra talon arms
Raveners: 40k FW tiny Rippers
Carnifex: DRM med beast
Zoanthorpe: DRM med beast?
Lictor: DRM med beast?
Tyranid Warrior: no Idea (don't really like the DRM talon beasts)
Hive Tyrant: no Idea
Biovore: no Idea

Before I go and buy a couple of boxes, could someone point me in the right direction please (with pics!)? Any help would be much appreciated!

On page 4, you'll find a sort-of step-by-step to make Raveners from Tyranid Warriors and plastic Rippers. My goal is to fill in all the blanks eventually, but my basis is still the OOP plastics and various metal figures.

OMG! You "killed" the Warriors! Those are very very cool but I wouldn't have the heart to chop my Warriors to pieces! I thought I'd use the Tiny Rippers from FW. any one have experience with those?



Those are outstanding! What are they representing? Trygons, Hierodule and Hierophant?

Any chance on remembering the bits used for each?
