This will be my first TOEG but hopefully it wil be completed. This tale started about 6-9months ago with a drunken bid on ebay. The day after I had won 120 CSM and 40 tzeentch flamers for less than a fiver (5GBP). both lots were mint unpainted and without bases - a real bargain.

After reading the various Horus heresy novels and Battle of the fang, the lure of Tzeentch grew and here we are.

An inventory of models gathered do far:

120 CSM
40 flamers
bunch of disk riders
6 doomwings
1 firelord
some silver towers

additional research and a quiet word at the last full scale assault led to the following
5 rhinos
8 space egytians stands
4 terminators
sorcerors

a parcel has also been mailed containing predators and land raiders - cant wait to get my hands on those babies.

I reckon i have enough to be getting on with. Tried a couple of test models, this army wont compare in standard with other thousand sons but I will be happy with a decent gaming paint job. Funky lighting on the pic - they really are not that bright - honest.

A good start, keep them coming. FYI I changed your thread title, PM me if you're wondering why.

Just a minor update in preparation.

Rasta - the blue is a thinned GW Regal blue highlighted with ice blue. (old GW blue ink and vallejo azul blue ink provides a similar finish).

Reinforcements have arrived from the USA, and as expected they are ace. Also just in from China is a pyramid suitable for egyptians. Should be fun to convert to a warp palace or similar.

Greater spire master is currently sittiing in a cup of silicon - fingers crossed!

Small update regarding silver towers and warp palaces. The image below shows progress so far, from left to right.

Potential warp palace - beads have been sourced so I am totally going to steal Neals idea from another thread and give that a try.
Warp palace master - also could be a good silver tower proxy with the addition of putty base.
Original GW silver Tower - for scale and reference.
Test silver tower - top half of the warp palace with beads. Looks like some chaos blokes remodelled their floating tower with plaig permission.

Experiments will continue, but April is almost here.

Luca when this is finished I might have a chat to you about using them in the showcase pieces in the Thousand Sons section of Epic:Nemesis if you're keen.

WIP - I have some holiday next week, hopefully will be able to get ahead of this months target. Anyway I am going to attempt to post often with updates. (The hasslefree mini's are not part of the TOEG)

I really like those custom made silver towers, what did you happen to make them out of?

Thanks Blind.

In answer to your question - the base is a large bead with a smaller one stuck to the top. I am totally copyig Nealhunt idea to use beads for silver towers, so the credit must go to him. The tower part is a cut down peice i made for greater spire's.
